I keep waking up with 'tis the damn season in my head. Probably my most over-looked song on my first few listens. Really love that one now
On a serious note. Do I need to start completing my OG versions of T Swift records? I only have 1989/Folklore in physical form. I really need Red and Lover at the very least.
Thankfully I have folklore and evermore now to distract me from obsessively speculating, but I'm still not convinced that she rerecorded ALL of her past albums. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think she ever referred to her re-recordings as "albums," but rather as "past catalog." I think it's more likely that she's just re-recording all of her biggest hits. I'm not expecting new versions of songs like Sad Beautiful Tragic or Tell Me Why. But what the hell do I know lol. We'll find out soon enough!
if this is true it will be the most disappointed I've ever been by something she has done and that will very much include dating John Mayer
This is something I hadn't even considered, so I just panic bought Fearless and Red. I actually didn't realize these were all hard to find now from official retailers/record stores.
Same. The "We could call it even" near the end where she sings it in more a speaking voice... just perfect.
I got all her past catalog when Big Machine did a huge dump of pressings which included the Platinum version of Fearless. Only one I don't have is Reputation but that's because the common pressing is a picture disc. Need to track down the orange variant.
Has anyone tried to do a single-album version of these two records? They were talking through suggested track lists on The NY Times podcast, and apparently a lot of fans have been putting together their ideal “folkmore” playlists. All the ones I’ve seen so far have been pretty bad. These two albums have pretty distinct moods for me, so I’m not sure I could piece them together into something more satisfying than either album already is. But was curious if anyone had one they think works really well.
I was gonna try to combine the Long Pond sessions with the regular album to make a "perfect" album but then this came out.
I'm not going to try and make a single album out of the two, but I will put the two albums on a single playlist at some point and listen to it on shuffle, to see how the two albums really mesh with each other
I have a feeling to get a mix I'm happy with, not every song will make the cut. Which defeats the purpose of the exercise.
I made a Spotify playlist where I meshed them. The 1 into Willow into Cardigan etc. I don't think I could do a true 16 song album combined of the two where I went 8/8. It would probably be closed to 10/6 with Folklore being the 10. Maybe. Now y'all gonna make me think about it.
