Taylor isn’t half assing this. I have full confidence this is going to be great. Hoping for an Ezra Koenig collab at some point.

 

i seriously doubt Taylor Swift would pull a 20/20 Experience (2 of 2) on us . she likely went all in, considering that they kept writing.

I think I mentioned this when folklore came out, but around, like, 2010 (give or take), I mentioned in the AbsolutePunk forums really wanting this to happen. More than once, I think. When there were conversations about hypothetical collaborations at the time, The National & Taylor Swift always came to mind. (I believe I’d also throw around Dustin Kensrue as someone I wanted to sing with them? lol.)

The idea of this finally happening, & doing so after Taylor’s voice has grown, just blows my early 20s mind.

 

another reason to hold off on EOTY lists... I wonder if we have another surprise release in store before the end of the month

I feel this way too much, and honestly feel this way about Lover too. I love all the music, but I don’t think I’ve really settled in to either of the last two.

The last National album with all the female vocals came out so well, so I’ve got real high hopes for that song. And all the other songs too obviously. No doubt this will be special.

Gonna do a discog run today. Taylor was HUGE for me in middle school and early high school, but I don’t think I’ve listened to self titled or Fearless since then. I got “edgy” and backed off and really didn’t start listening again till last year with Lover. I really missed out all those years
