I love Our Song, but it has never really screamed “closer” to me

Surprised by how much I disagree with this! “Hoax” is my least favorite. I’d probably go:

*(i find people's love for this song charming but the lyrics are v corny to me. [listens to "guys" by the 1975 like a hypocrite])

 

I love Welcome to NY and I'm not sorry about it

 

I never even knew it was the closer. I've always listened to the deluxe addition so never knew where the main album ended and the bonus tracks started. But yeah it doesn't fit in my head as a closer to me.

 

There are different elements of Champagne Problems that remind me of Cornelia Street, New Year's Day and All Too Well.

 

the piano intro is 100% new years day

 

Every time she says "champagne problems" I hear "...in your drawer even now".

 

Listening again with the lyrics. Willow is good, more of the same from Folklore but it's catchy enough to work. I think there's some bad lines throughout the album.
The 90s trend line does not work for me at all. And as much as I do like the "gift-wrapped suburban dream" line in Coney Island, "sorry for not winning you an arcade ring" just doesn't land, haha.

 

Also listening with AirPods for the first time. The guitar line that kicks in midway through Champagne Problems really makes me like it more. I'm assuming there's a ton of that stuff scattered throughout that I've missed listening through shit computer speakers.

Yeah, Gold Rush has really been elevated too.

 

I hope her re-recordings makes everyone appreciate the masterpiece that is cold as you.

I'm liking this. But I dunno if more than folklore. I love this version of t.swizzle

 

Tolerate It hasn't grown on me. Don't like the melody, but the lyrics are good.

 

I wish I liked the HAIM song more than I do. I like them, and I respect the genre switchup that the song takes, but I'm not into the melody once again. It is funny that they kill the guy at the end

 

Happiness rules

 

I'm here just to say that I have listened to more Taylor Swift in the last ~30 hours than I had listened to any of her music in the 14-15 years that her music has existed prior to that.

And I am okay with this.

I like Coney Island a lot, but I really don't know how much I like Matt on it...and that's super weird to say because I love The National. When they're singing the chorus together it sounds great. Idk about his separate verse though.

 

Headphones or not, Ivy remains the clear highlight on this for me. Song is terrific.

 

The piano for evermore reminds me a lot of the melody of this Honorary Title song:

 

This was me when 1989 came out. And now she’s my most listened to artist of the past six years.
