Huh.

does anyone remember if Task was originally announced as a second season to Mare? I can see it as something like that, where it’s another story in the same Delco/Easttown world, but this specific story is complete and really shouldn’t be continued.

 

I thought the show could've had an episode or 2 more, so I'm excited for this. I have full faith that this will be good after Mare and season 1.

Would love a follow up of Maeve eventually too.

 

I have a coworker who grew up in that part of PA, and he told me he was 50/50 on the show as he was watching it, but then ultimately didn't like it. He said Robbie was the best part of the show and it lost him once his character was killed off.

I asked about the accents and he said the actors did a pretty good job there

 

Did season 1 end perfectly? Yes. Did it need a second season? Probably not. Am I going to watch the shit out of the new season? Yes.

 

Did they confirm if Season 2 is a continuation with same characters/story? That would kind of surprise me.

 

Mark Ruffalo is confirmed but could easily be a new case with Maeve popping up

 

i'd probably watch it but i need at least 1 full calendar year of no delco accents in my life before i can go back to this world

 

Based on interviews with Brad Inglesby I think it’s most likely gonna be Ruffalo + a new task force and new case. Maybe some cameos from S1 characters but I highly doubt it’s a continuation of the S1 story in any significant way

I can't speak on the Delco accent specifically, but I'm super impressed with these actors and this dialect coach - I definitely thought the guy who played Jayson was American

 

I didn’t realize the lady cop whose name I’m forgetting was not an American actress haha

 

I didn't think his accent was very good but I knew he was Irish. You should watch Kin, which he is in with Charlie Cox.

 

I never finished this while it was airing and I just finished it today. Wow. Those first few episodes were kinda slow, but that backhalf of the season was some of the best TV I have seen this decade.

 

Watching this I was thinking about that upcoming "The Pitt but a cop drama" show HBO Max is doing. It made me think damn they already kinda have that in the Brad Ingelsby-verse shows. It's the realism and empathy.

Hell yeah. LOVE to have a reason to rewatch Mare. Only watched it the 1 time.
