Self-Titled (2013) Full Album Acoustic Show from Tancred

Can’t believe it’s been nearly EIGHT YEARS since my self-titled record came out on Topshelf Records. Time flies when you live in a dystopian hellscape. But GREAT NEWS – as promised in my last streaming show, I’m going to play another livestream show on bandcamp on February 25th at 8pm EST, and this time I’m playing my entire self-titled album front to back.

This record came out in 2013 when all my time was dedicated to writing and touring with Now, Now, so this album was never given a proper cycle. I think I only played 2 or 3 Tancred shows during that time.

I’m very excited to play these songs now, some of which will be for the first time, and solo acoustic, the way each was originally written. These songs are raw and I can’t wait to present them that way.

Capes 10 Year Anniversary Acoustic Show from Tancred

Capes (2011) was my very first Tancred record, which some might not know because it was only released digitally at the time with a vinyl release at a later date and I never played any shows around that time. I didn’t know what to do with some of the riffs I was sitting on that didn’t fit with the band I was in at the time (Now, Now) so I decided to release them as low impact as possible. I started with a couple guitar and lyric ideas, and then wrote the majority of the record in about a weeks time. I imagined a lookbook of short songs, little glimpses into memories and sadnesses I was feeling at the very tender age of 19. Brad Hale helped me record it in the basement of the house I was living in; we tracked and mixed the whole thing in just a couple of days. Capes is quite literally bedroom music. I feel a bit shy looking back on it all now, but I do try to consider the release and that time in my life warmly as my first tiny step into solo music-making.
