sounds like a bad remix of a song that could be good, but as is? Not a big fan

I don’t mind the pivot to EDM-esque music…I’ve been getting more into EDM recently but this song is just boring.

Yeah it's not a well-executed version of what I thought this was going for and sounds pretty, well, tame.

Pretty safe sounding honestly - hope this is a non album single only

    Got a light?

I get wanting to explore a different style, I am not someone who cares if he doesn’t use guitars or makes an electronic album, but this song doesn’t justify being 7 mins long. There’s some cool elements in the back half when it switches up, hope this is just the safe mainstream one and he gets a lot more experimental on the rest

    idk man

Feels like Mr. Parker is chasing trends rather than trailblazing them. Quite disappointed.

I am so here for an electronic-leaning Tame Impala record but this isn't it. Might hit better in context if it's even on the album.

It’s actually growing on me slowly, while I feel the synths especially are too straightforward for a sound like this knowing what he’s capable of, I do still feel a bit of emotion/melancholy in the main synth melody and the lyrics that’s kind of working for me

Wonder if we’ll see more of the Tame Impala Soundsystem live set up vs the full band for more of this era?

    Ive been here before

Yeah after a few listens I think it’s alright, a lot of the hyper negativity feels over blown but I’ve also seen people on other corners of the web calling this a masterpiece and it certainly isn’t that. If a whole album comes out of this quality I’ll be super let down but we’ll see

I like the song, but not in love with it as I usually am upon hearing a Tame Impala track. If this were similar to The Slow Rush rollout, I'd consider this song not done, similar to how Borderline sounded vastly different between its single release in 2019 and the final version on the album (which I preferred). That doesn't seem to be the case this time around. One of his IG posts had a pic with an album board with "DONE" in every box, so this seems to be the final version of this track. I'm betting this is going to be on the album, and I hope it makes more sense within that context.

Let It Happen justified every bit of its 7-min runtime... this one doesn't. Really digging the sound and buildup on the second half, and can't help but wonder if it'd been better as a 4-min track instead.

I also think those upcoming DJ sets opening for Justice are him practicing for a possible solo tour this time around, meaning him being the only one on stage. I think he could pull it off, especially if he plans on remixing his older work into the set and mashing things up in new ways. It wouldn't be a DJ set in an arena, but more of the building the songs in real-time using looping pedals, similar to how Ed Sheeran or Tyler from Twenty One Pilots have done before. Just speculation on my part.

IDK, I'm still a big fan and excited for what's next. I'm also a huge EDM fan, and especially the sound he's going for, but as others have stated, Rufus Du Sol and Aphex Twin have done it better. The studio pics on his recent post had very minimal instrument setups, though I'm expecting experimental Tame vibes as always. "It Might Be Time" was the single for TSR, and that sounded nothing like the rest of that album. He's made his money. If this is what he wants to do and he's still successful with it, more power to him. I'm still along for the ride.

Idk now that the initial 5 year wait letdown vibe, it’s kinda hard for me to say I don’t enjoy the song on some level now considering multiple parts have been in my head all day
