I love Miami. I also re-call Adam saying it was his favorite song the band has ever written, which is an interesting choice.
Just because there may be worse songs doesn't negate the garbage status. Like You Do is okay. A weaker song for sure, but I can listen to it. Can't say the same for Miami.
I agree, weak chorus coupled with shitty drum production at the very beginning and end of the song. The guitar solo and "terror held in wedding bells" outro keep it from being worse than "Like You Do" or "Money" though imo.
Makedamnsure is a great song, but My Blue Heaven OMG, it's like an orgasm of baked cookies and unicorn rainbows
I like the whole song but it's the chorus that makes it next level for me. simple, yet almost soothing, stays in your head. Referring to Miami, that is.
Both are really good. Hard to be mad at anyone who votes for the song you didn't vote for. I could have gone either way, but I voted instinctually.
Also "don't torture me with my past, let's be honest" and "sideways blinders, I can't find a way" are a couple of the best moments on the record. Man and then the wedding bells part comes in. Terrific song.
It seems I enjoy "Like You Do" more than most. It's a nice break from two heavier songs, plus I think I'm a sucker for slightly unconventional song structures.
Money is hands down, IMO, their worst song ever. The only purpose Like You Do serves is to bring you back up after the heavy subject matter of Better Homes lol I always liked that those 2 songs were back to back
