I feel like New Again was the end of an era in some ways. It feels like the end of the emotionally over-indulgent lyrics and attitude. I'm glad Adam is in a better situation these days though and I really like the dad band aesthetic the band has been running with lately though.
I'd keep Capital M-E only because the theme of that song helped get me through a rough time back in 2009. Other than that, I totally agree on all counts. WYWTB is my favorite record as well. Doing that bracket is gonna suuuuck.
I loved New Again when it first came out, a lot. But as time went on I kind of grew apart from it the more I listened to it. Now I view it the same way I view Blink-182's 'Neighborhoods'. Good album, has some very notable songs, but weakest in their catalog.
Welcome to Chorus! My advice to any newcomer to this site is that if someone seems kinda mean, don't take it personally, we all just love to argue...and rank. This site is all about rankings.
I'm looking so forward to it, I assume it's everyone's favorite so opinions and debates are going to be flying high!
Thanks, I appreciate that! I did door to door sales for 2 years so I learned quickly to develop a thick skin haha
Hah well I'm not like a lot of the other users on this forum. I won't fault you for having a different opinion than mine. Different strokes for different blokes I say
Taking Back Sunday is always interesting to discuss on here because of the huge spectrum of opinions on their songs/albums. I can't think of another band like this on here.
Agreed. Up Against and 20/20 being the biggest offenders. I know a lot of people say "Miami" is the worst, but that guitar solo and the "Terror held in wedding bells" outro save that song.
I used to hate WMMI, and it was my least favorite on the album for a long time but over time I've come around to it in a big way and like where it sits on the record. Haven't listened to Winter Passing much tho tbh. That makes sense and I can definitely respect that! I'm super glad that song was able to have that kind of effect on you. I definitely like that song, but just personally feel like it doesn't necessarily fit on the album sonically. You'd think so, but I'm pretty sure TAYF and LN still get mentioned as much or more than WYWTB in terms of favorites. WYWTB is one of those records that, to me, feels like it should be universally favored among fans but is surprisingly more divided than that.

Carpathia- I've said it a bunch on this thread. Phenomenal track, love the dirty, driving riff, great bass line, and how it fades into EMG. Orensanz performance is a classic Where My Mouth Is- Love Adam's lyrics here and Fazzi's call and response in the chorus. Underrated track. Lonely, Lonely- Both decent tracks but neither are standouts to me. Swing- One of my favorite TBS riffs, asked Fazzi about it at a show and apparently Mark wrote it. Love the imagery in the lyrics Sink Into Me- Really catchy track, but definitely a weak lead single coming off Decade and MakeDamnSure. I remember when it first dropped a lot of people being let down
