I hope everyone who wanted to hear the me band so bad loves their new song =)

 

The fact that I can't find it on Spotify search isn't a great sign for them

 

"allowing it to evolve freely for the first time" = "We didn't have better song and/or lyric writers in the room with us this time"

 

i tried to listen yesterday and couldn't find it on spotify or apple music because of the name of the band. poor choice.

 

It's impossoble to find on spotify without a link.

 

oh shit I can't believe I'm stuck at work and can't listen to the new single from certified hitmakers ME immediately

 

Lol it's the dumbest band name ever. I think "the band" is literally the only worst name they could've picked lol

 

I would actually applaud the hubris to call themselves The Band.

 

This whole time I was calling them “Maine”

the band are essential listening, absolutely incredible stuff. music from big pink and northern lights southern cross are all timers

Listened to happiness is on my run today. Really is a solid record

 

I wasn’t gonna waste my time listening to that “ME.” song, but since people kept talking about it.

Wow. What a stupidly shitty pop punk song. Somehow both annoying and boring. Not even, like, particularly funny imo.

 

to be fair, Carpathia and Everything Must Go are top tier songs.

 

It’s their best album :)

 

if this project progresses and plays shows, what percent of the set do you think will just be TBS covers?

 

Song honestly isn't that bad. Not dying to listen to it again, but definitely leagues above those clips Mark was putting out last year.

 

Those clips were better because they were funnier. People here still quote the one all the time (perhaps too much, even).

Truly no value to that new song. Middle aged guys making bland music that reminds them of, idk, 00s Warped Tour or something.

 

I only listened to a clip but from what I remember my first thought was that the singer's voice just sounds like any local cover band guy's voice. The music and lyrics could be decent enough, I didn't hate them from what I heard, but part of what TBS' appeal was is they had two singers who traded off vocals, and their voices were somewhat unique. This has none of that sound and music/lyrics not good enough to make up for it, imo

 

For real, reminds me of so many bands that would play like one show at their local Warped Tour. Hard to believe something so generic came from two guys from TBS
