i used to have i'm not gay i just wish i were on a burnt cd but never saw the video where it came from. cool shit.
if you haven't given the Prepare to Be Wrong EP by Straylight a listen in a while, I highly recommend it, especially with headphones. The production of that EP is such a vibe, and it is extremely depressing how relevant the songs still are in 2026. I really miss John's writing from Straylight.
Under-appreciated S/T song. I stumbled across an old pro-shot video of them playing “The Union” with Fred, and watching Fred sing while playing some of those parts is crazy. I think it may genuinely be their hardest song to sing and play at the same time.
I love that Sad Savior, Who Are You and Money are all in sequence so I can skip ahead to This is All Now
I know the S/T gets a lot of flack but man... It just takes me back to 2011 and the end of high school for me.. I was so hyped John and Shaun came back and got to see them the next year at Warped Tour. I think I'll always really really enjoy that album from start to finish. I always thought the intro riff to "You Got Me" was just MakeDamnSures progression but sped up.
It has some great stuff for sure. My biggest hang ups are Eric Valentine’s production and the demos that got left off in favor of Money and Since You’re Gone.
It has an official video, so it must have gotten some amount of push (but I sure don't remember it) -
I adored Valentine's production on Louder Now but the production on Self-titled I didn't care for and I struggle to vocalize/specify why.
I always thought the drums on the S/T were my least favorite part. The snare sound just doesnt have that oomf I feel like.
I really have a soft spot for self-titled. Got to meet the band during that tour which was cool, walked like miles in the sun to get the record and listened to it all summer long. Easily the worst post-reunion album though.
Ok, 4 guitar attack: bring fazzi back, do the career spanning set and call it the triple threat tour. selling out arenas
