Never understood the hate for You Got Me. Think that's one of their better songs since the original lineup reunion. Love the bridge especially.
I love It Doesn't Feel A Thing Like Falling. Money and Who Are You Anyway? are probably the only ones I skip from that album.
can there just be a New Again thread? i like the album and still don't ever want to read about it again.
No, because it’s an album by this band, and the people pissed every time it comes up are just as annoying, and people would just choose other boring talking point to recycle endlessly (self-titled opinions; opinions on John vs Fred; how is Adam as a live performer; etc). The solution is to not be annoying, but that’s perhaps impossible, who’s to say.
Nowhere in my post did I say it was their best album my dude. And even if I did, who cares? It ain't that deep and gatekeeping fandom per album is silly. I don't agree with you that This is All Now is an "iconic" TBS song, but I'm glad you like it and I hope they play it for you.
We will never agree on New Again, but at least we’ll always have 152. What a breath of fresh air for the band, with no filler. So curious how they follow it up, especially with their lineup in flux.
"El Paso" may be a blatant BN ripoff, but with the exception of that song, that record is STERILE. For a big original lineup comeback record, it has virtually no identity other than...polished, I guess? New Again manages to have hooks while sounding grittier and more interesting to my ears. Very good, very cool record by a band I have admittedly been hit or miss on since.
If you’re a tbs fan I don’t know how you can dislike the songs new again, swing and everything must go.
It’s funny that self-titled is one of the albums that gets discussed here the most. Something interesting about how much of a dud and a mess it is (a front runner for their worst), but how enjoyable its brief glimpses of life are.
idk if youre just being facetious but i'm pretty sure they said within the last year they were not planning on doing this. it would seem like a missed opportunity to not do SOMETHING especially now that Fred is kinda semi sorta back in the mix, but i'm definitely not expecting a tour.
I was being serious. Had no clue they said they weren't going to tour on Louder Now. I somehow missed that. I automatically assumed they would be considering their anniversary tours in the past. Hoping for new music then!
Yeah I've said it a bunch of times but S/T very much feels like a band that was relearning how to write together and was more a collection of songs than a cohesive album It's funny I never really connected El Paso to a BN sound until someone pointed it out here a year or so ago but yeah I think John was definitely getting some inspiration from his friend at that point lol
