That’s wild but I guess we will hear a lot of those songs next year on the obvious 20 years louder now tour
They played Miami again tonight and also One-Eighty by Summer! Yay, finally! Shoutout to that fan who requested it, they're cool.
gonna have to hit the sayreville show, always been meaning to go to one of them and this year is the perfect time to do it
Have we had any unofficial word that these are John AND Fred shows? I believe @lenny my age said there would be some shows with both playing outside of WWWY this year, and obviously there has been one so far, but the holiday shows post-WWWY would seem to be a fitting way to celebrate everything positive in TBS Land in 2025. Particularly John's recovery. So if Lenny said or says now to expect both at the holiday shows, that's official word in my book.
i would imagine the *plan* is for John to be back by then and all of them would presumably play together - but obviously who knows now. i heard rumors of straylight being support again but again i'm sure it all hinges on john's recovery.
Really wanna take my 5 y/o to the Holiday show. The last time I went to a Holiday show was in 2019 a couple days after finding out my wife and I were expecting, and my kid really digs The One, Keep Going and New Music Friday. I think it’d be a fun, full-circle thing.
What I heard (a while back, plans may have changed) was that WWWY fest was being discussed as a Fred and John show. Not sure about these holiday shows but I see Fred has shared them on Instagram so it's looking like he will be playing them.
I was thinking the same about Straylight. They've repeated openers at the holiday shows a bunch of times before and it would make sense to come back following their three gigs at WWWY. That's just asking a ton from John to potentially perform nine sets over four days between TBS/Straylight/Acoustic Popup after what he's gone through. In 2021 we didn't even get the popup. Not sure if that was Covid related, Straylight opening, and/or Long Island shows being added to the mix. I don't recall them having one in 2022 either, which had swatted away two of those hurdles from the year before. I guess they realized after that four day stretch that they could add the popup back on top of the four holiday shows in 2023. But yeah I see now John did post about the shows on his story so it seems like a positive sign that recovery is still going well and he will be back for the shows later this years. And Fred has made it clear he'll be there on social. Either way whatever we get lineup wise with TBS and openers, I'm cool with. It's always a hell of a good time.
Thank you for your service as always. I should have checked their individual socials earlier. We got stories from Fred and John about the holiday shows, so I imagine as long as John continues to have what seems so far to be a smooth recovery with no setbacks later this year, it'll be all three of them trading vocals up there. Ultimately want what's right for his health and if playing this year is a detriment to his long-term recovery or he's just not up for it when the time comes, I'm perfectly fine just seeing Adam and Fred perform together again this year.
They didn't have the pop up in 2021 or 2022, mostly to reduce traffic in 2021 for COVID (same with them having limited openers in Straylight Run. Not sure why they didn't do it in 2022. Maybe they just didn't know if people wanted it or not? Or they didn't reach out to the vendors in time? But I know it was something they talked about being happy/excited to bring back and a lot of people had expressed missing it.
Just snagged my tickets for night one at Mulcahys. Surprised how easy that was, I didnt try until 70 minutes after the presale started and tickets were still available.
Yeah a bunch of friends got Covid at the 2021 Saturday night show, but I thankfully avoided it. That following month was brutal with people catching it thanks to traveling and gatherings during the holidays. Noble effort not having the pop up that year to reduce traffic and it makes sense that having Straylight Run open would help decrease the potential performers Covid could spread to. Hadn't thought of that being a reason. Was pretty sure the pop up didn't occur in 2022 since I was there Satuday night, but couldn't remember if they ever said why for either year. Thanks for confirming its absence. It's clearly a fan favorite event. Had a blast attending from 2017-2019. Unfortunately missed all the festivities the past two years because of travel, but got my ticket for Friday this morning. Making it to one of the Starland shows for 7 out of 11 years isn't too bad.
