Without having any insider knowledge, i feel confident that Fred will eventually be a full time return even when John is back. Not only is it the best they’ve sounded live in 10 years, having Fred back in the studio could really spice up their songwriting.
Photograph is the only curve ball here, really. Liar and my blue heaven have been consistent for years now. they didn’t play El Paso tonight in favor of 20-20 surgery.
I was wrong about tidal wave—they played you can’t look back No Timberwolves which is a shock, but they did add photograph which is a nice addition. Two shows extremely small sample size, but maybe one song is changing every night? (Or El Paso is just too vocally taxing to do every night)
I think El Paso is just too much for Adam to do two consecutive nights or, as they frequently say about the song, the crowd at large wasn’t feeling it.
I’m not seeing this tour. Let them play it the rest of the tour. Better chance of them not playing it the next time I catch them. setlists should always take my dumb personal opinions as a guiding light
The biggest snoozer whenever I’ve seen them is “You’re So Last Summer”, but then again I also don’t think it’s a very good song
this all has me so excited and spinning them a lot again. wild that Mark's all-time crash out is looking like a huge net positive for the band (and props to them for paying it the amount of attention it deserved, which was zero)
I’m not watching any videos to save my anticipation for Wednesday night in the flesh. It makes sense they would play more stuff from Fred’s initial tenure but why 20/20 Surgery? At the very least, play 180 by Summer or Number Five with a Bullet or even Spin, soooo many better song choices than 20/20 Surgery.
I haven’t listened to Louder Now in full, or really most of it besides “MakeDamnSure,” in years tbh. Genuinely don’t remember my opinion of some of these songs.
20/20 is not only leagues better than El Paso, but it should be on the setlist more often. great tune. a shame others are on the wrong side of this.
You’re so sensitive (about this song), I am a machine (that concstsntly loves that song) (Ok I get it it was a stretch but listen, it’s 7:50am. Just trying to find some funny content)
As a hater of most of their self-titled, I do agree with the band that “El Paso” is underrated. It doesn’t pop as much as I think it could (probably the fault of the, idk, production or whatever), but I think it’s generally pretty rad and fun. If only they felt the same way about something from New Again, preferably “Carpathia.” A live performance of that with John, Fred, or perhaps even both would be so fucking cool.
