After hearing Mark's solo songs it's still so hard to comprehend what it's claimed that he was responsible for in TBS lol
I always thought Eddie was pretty open about struggling financially post-TBS and having a hard time holding down a job. Mark might have managed his money fairly well, but it will probably run out soon if the comments on Reddit back in the winter were even half-true about what he's struggling with. I can't imagine that a lot of these people will stick around when the money runs out, and it really does feel like they're taking advantage of Mark's situation.
The song in that clip sounds okay, but yea the “wish they were in a band with us bit” is just weird. Start a new project. Move on.
I am calling it right now, at least one of their song titles will be a play on words from one of the songs on TAYF, or maybe an ironic version of one of the later songs. I can see it now. Band Without 'ME' (cut from the scheme)
"So did you tell all your friends?" "NOW who has the mic and the moshpit?" "and with your one last gasping breath, you should apologize for being such a jerk!" I could cringe riff forever baby!
Also, they are targeting a really niche crowd with all these TBS mentions. I think TBS is not that big of a band for casual listeners to care about what two ex members are doing. Apart from this thread and Reddit, I bet most TBS listeners don’t even know the line up changes over the years. As some have said, I liked the music clip!
I have a friend who only recently discovered Mark left the band, so yeah. It also seems that the meltdown this winter killed a lot of goodwill people might have had towards them.
I think TBS themselves are having a hard enough time keeping people interested in 2025. These two stand no chance lmao
It’d be so funny if they tried to get a feud going for publicity, like the famous Brand New one from literal decades ago when they were basically children, but the TBS guys and the press all just ignored it forever.
i mean now that you say that, maybe that is what they are trying to do! That would honestly make some of the shit talking, online behavior and song clips make a little more sense!
Every bit of what they're doing is for the attention, and here we are talking about it, but it's still super juvenile and is not gonna get them anywhere if the songs are still as laughably bad as Mark's apparently shelved album was. Yeah, dude can play guitar and dude can play drums. But there's a lot of dudes out there doing both of those things a lot better, and so far nothing is making this project stand out other than how cringe it is to watch. and on topic of TBS proper - I really wish they would drop some sprinkle of news outside of tours. 152 is still dope and I'm ready for more new music!
It's the fact that they're two 40+ year old men talking about how they're going back to the sound of "original TBS" with no desire to show that they have 20-something years of playing experience under their belts now. They should be so much better than what they're doing, but I'm not exactly surprised that they don't have the maturity. Regardless of how people feel about the later TBS albums, one thing I've always appreciated is the willingness to progress and move on. I really liked 152 for how different it was. That move to a completely out of left field producer was very good for them, and I would like to hear what comes after that, but I guess I can't necessarily blame them for a somewhat quiet year. I imagine they've been through a lot behind the scenes this past year with all this happening with Mark, and I hope they're all doing well.
Yeah as much as I don’t like 152 and only enjoy a handful of Tidal Wave songs, I’ve gotta hand it to TBS for evolving their sound with each release. Them trying to make a TAYF style record now would be boring and really make the band feel washed
I just came in here to say that We All Love Our Pets is a top tier TBS song. Ya'll should be ashamed for never mentioning it.
