I love Shaun and how happy he looks when he’s playing and he’s an incredible bassist in his own right, but man, I miss the little fills that Rubano would throw into their songs.
I was wondering what memorable bass lines they've had since Matt Rubano left. I'm sure there's plenty but they don't seem to stand out as much as they did during Rubano's tenure. Perhaps because the latter used more effects?
The loud-as-hell tambo on the outro of Twenty-Twenty Surgery makes me want to shake my ass every time I hear it.
If it’s the one on Austin blvd, that place originally opened in the 90s as Billiards and Archery - the upstairs was an archery range. Then they dropped archery and added a really bad lazer tag when that was all the rage. Then I remember not being allowed to go there as a teen as there were stabbing incidents. I left the island in 2011 and to my knowledge it was still kind of a shitty bar/pool hall.
Canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances according to Mark’s Instagram. Does anybody have any idea what that might be?
Nah likely the lack of interesting thing. I don’t think it’s snowing on Long Island (easy to google the weather) and also then you would just. Say it was snow.
It's a dive bar-y billiards hall but it is most definitely not too dangerous to walk around. Very busy road, just super industrial.
Its funny because Fred left TBS at their peak and gained some level of intrigue and success when kick starting his solo career because he could say he was in TBS. I love the band and all, but almost 18 years later, name-dropping TBS is not going to get Mark far at all on top of the messy way he left the band.
Someone in the TBS subreddit shared this cover Fazzi did of “Round Here” by Counting Crows, and goddamn it he’s so good. What a voice. When he does the “she has trouble acting normal when she’s NERRRVOUS!” line, chills.
