    I'm better than you
Why am I so much better than you?
I don't know why I'm better than you
But I just am and that's the way it is

I still can't believe these are actually lyrics and not a parody.

Has there ever been such meaningful lyrics written?

It’s embarrassing how many times I’ve caught myself singing this in a goofy ass voice recently.

Maybe we've been too hard on Bert McCracken.

I just can’t deal with how much I don’t believe Adam can actually sing the songs on 152. The album isn’t bad but he’s not that good of a vocalist. I feel like I can hear the auto tune

I isolated the vocals on "The One" before and both Adam and John's voices are noticably modulated at certain parts.

TBS could rip out good studio records with autotune for the rest of their career & I would not give a fuck. Who cares? If the songs are good, the production is good, and it’s fun to listen to, then isn’t that great?

At this point I feel I’m only really here for the studio records.

I’ve seen them a handful of times & it’s always been a just fine performance, but fun as hell. Idk that I’ll ever go out of my way to see them again, but something like Fred could pull me out because I’ve never seen them with that lineup.

Absolutely. The record is the document that will live forever.

Come to think of it, Fred - Adam - Shaun - Nathan - Mitch is in fact a brand new lineup that has only played one song live: the Starland performance of "Liar"

When I go see TBS live, it’s more about like…having a shared experience with 2000 other people where we’re yelling the bridge to cute without the e together. Most of the time I don’t even notice how Adam sounds enough to care if he sounds exactly like he does on the record . If I wanted to hear the record I could stay home and listen to the record.

Fortunately my ears are bad from like a decade of not wearing earplugs to shows, so I don’t pick up on the autotune on the record so much and listening to that is an enjoyable experience for me. I don’t listen to the isolated vocal tracks because I don’t see the point in doing that? I guess so I can tell what parts were autotuned and point it out on the internet?

Depends on the song from 152 of course, but at my date “Amphetamine Smiles” was the best Adam sounded that night.

He sounded great singing that song at my date, too. I hope they leave it on the setlist for the next tour!

alright yeah finished listening to Fred's stuff including Breaking Pangaea (the hook from My Blue Heaven showing up was a nice surprise lol). really pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed his whole catalogue, A Year and Change is maybe a couple songs too long but really strong stuff, pretty moving at points. def onboard with Terrible Things being his best, that album is unreal

For what it's worth the album ends with "Veronica Road". The INXS cover and "Future Past" are bonuses

No doubt the Terrible Things album is the best with his solo Bend to Break not too far behind. It’s a shame the Terrible Things album didn’t get the love it deserved. I wonder if it came out a few years previously it would have been better received.

I remember checking out Revolution when it came out but it didn't click with me. Not sure if I just didn't like Andy Jackson's voice or the lyrics didn't connect or what.

I was the same, I thought it was pretty generic but the full album has more stronger songs on there. The Hills of Birmingham is worth checking out.

I feel like that album really kicks off around Lullaby and then it's bangers to the end. that 3 song run of Lullaby, t/t and Conspiracy is sublime
