Probably a bit of that plus the interest in it being about Fred, I assume

I think I'm just impressed I remembered that any song was in a different time signature.

    Ah, okay. That makes sense.

Musically no, but they have the same vibe imo. Something about it I can't quite put my finger on

i don't think there was a single strong enough on NA to build on the momentum they had gotten from LN.

and i'm a huge NA fan.

I'm a fake fan, I meant "Where My Mouth Is" and "Capital M-E"

NA is still my favourite TBS record though

I thought the title track would have been a great fit for lead single and kicking off an era with that lineup change.

There's something about the delivery of the verses in Everything Must Go that really scratches my brain nicely. That "cabinet record player with nothing but James Taylor" bit. I remember being really shocked when Everything Must Go made it into their Sad Summer setlist alongside the One and S'old before 152 came out.

However, Sink Into Me as a lead single did eventually translate into the "I Used to Be in Taking Back Sunday" tee shirts, because they had them made for Envy and Anberlin to wear during the one late night performance (doing the claps & heys), then made them into merch due to demand. And that was very funny to me personally, also considering they've had a thousand more lineup changes since making those shirts.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Watch Mark get his hands on one of those shirts if he ever makes a video for one of his songs.

I've still got one. Might be a bit small for him, and I doubt that yellow color looks good after sitting for this many years in storage somewhere, but if he wants it...

I’m surprised it didn’t happen because they were playing that song live for a year before New Again was released and the whole getting the audience to clap thing was super over and it kicked off with a sweet Rubano bass line so it was a winning formula. But I do agree it does kinda drag a little bit towards the end but whatever.

this shirt has not fit me since around that time...but i still have it and refuse to throw it out.

Kind of annoying how catchy it is.

It is genuinely funny that they went with those shirts as a marketing strategy kicking off this era of the band in a tongue in cheek way only to go through another line-up change 9 months later

A couple of my friends remade these shirts like a year or two ago and when the band saw them (including Mark, which in hindsight...) they all talked about how funny the shirts were and wished they had them.

Highly unlikely they would reprint them in 2025 as grown adults, but man. It would be fun for me personally. As long as they don't go with yellow again...who picked yellow.

I briefly went through a yellow v-neck phase, then I met my wife and she was like “sorry, yellow is not most people’s color”

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I absolutely love Winter Passing, it's definitely a highlight. the "stuck in the middle between return to sender" bit lives rent-free in my head

Only really bad song on NA is Capitol M-E. I Usually only skip that and Where My Mouth Is. Still not sure why they didn't include Long Time Comin on the record. Way better than both of those.

Sink Into Me AND New Again were terrible choices. Possibly my least favorite songs on the album. NA is the better one, though

Also strongly agree with the Carpathia love. I think it might be my favorite on the album. Just a really cool sounding song
