That’s what I remember as well, so I’m very curious to hear what they come up with without him, and potentially with Fred if there’s ever a possibility they write and record with him again.
The spring Coheed tour is all B markets. They could probably still announce this new tour since it'll be in major markets (and probably the official "new album" tour).
That statement is so funny. Want to focus on positive while his song is clearly super negative. But, okay. At least it’s official now, I guess? Time to move on until the next wild thing his “friends” say.
It seems like his buddy/producer deleted all those comments where he called fans gay and insulted their genitals.
This is all of us seeing Mark made an official statement, but then reading it: But I'm glad it was relatively chill. Like others have said, he probably didn't write it completely by himself, and that's for the best. Although a lot of damage to his character has already been done so it feels a bit too little too late.
A lot of this has sort of instigated me looking back on past drama and realizing that the viewpoint I had back in those years ("Adam is sort of melodramatic and likely caused a lot of these flame-outs through his actions") was likely largely inaccurate, or at the very least the situation was vastly, vastly more complicated than I thought, and that also Adam had probably grown up since those years, and a lot of people likely did not/have had other issues.
Echoing others... I'm selfishly kinda sad that it ended as "maturely" as it seems to have after all the build up from the weekend, but it was the right thing to do I suppose. Also, as stated, incoming Mark and Eddie project is obvious at this point... I wonder what happens when Antonio joins them.
What I've learned (which is largely evident by the AP Oral History) is that Eddie and Mark were the ones causing a lot of drama.
Who honestly cares about Antonio Longo in 2025? What sort of insight would he have from his time in the band ... 25 years ago ... that he feels the need to insert himself into this?
Considering Eddie's stuff I find it weird he throws his sobriety in there like it was a problem with TBS, seems hard to imagine. Anyways I wasn't looking forward to it getting uglier and glad that's seemingly the end of it
It is kind of weird how many times I've been at a TBS show and somebody in the audience yells for Summer Stars... If he's been working with Eddie, who seems to still have an issue with TBS, I don't find it all that weird that he would throw it in there as a little dig, especially after everything that happened over this weekend. It still does feel like finger pointing and not fully accepting that your actions while not sober may have played a role in how things unfolded, too. I know that not taking responsibility is a big part of struggling with addiction but this (and honestly, the way Eddie still acts after it's been many, many years) feels very telling to me. I hope that he finds the support he's looking for, and it seems that at least one person is looking out for him with the way this is worded relatively drama-free (and the absence of some of the comments on the old posts either being deleted by him or the person who wrote them).
The fact this was released without something accompanying it from them/wasn't immediately shared by their accounts, makes me wonder if they even knew this was coming today. I have to imagine they've had something drafted for a little bit now, but there's probably a lot of calls happening behind the scenes before they hit post on something, especially if they want to make any changes to what they planned to say based on what happened this weekend and the wording of Mark's post.
mark went on a weird social media firestorm last week, calling adam out by name, and now we want the band to just issue a completely fake "we wish mark the best" kind of post, so, what we can feel better about it? lol its very clear there is bad blood, so, best just move on.
Yeah I dont see why they would need to make a statement. If anything it seems like their radio silence has been in an effort to take the high road and protect Mark. I was just watching an interview TBS did at When We Were Young in October, which was like 6 months after Mark left, and they were still talking kindly about him. From the outside looking in I get the sense that they still care for the dude but his addiction issues were causing problems for the business. They'd probably rather not air out his dirty laundry to the world.
