Is his "return" anything more than playing two songs at one show for the first time in 17 years? I know you seem to be an insider, but it's not like the band has officially announced anything yet, so we're all just running on speculation.

 

I am guessing by Fred's silence that something is in the works. Fred has always been very active on social media and is constantly giving updates about what he's doing and what he's up to so the fact that he did this guest appearance but hasn't really addressed it further leads me to believe that something is up.

 

I agree with this completely. He played with TBS for the first time in 17 years and hasn't said a word about it aside from reposting one of their videos to his story. Seems odd considering he has wanted to reconnect with them for quite some time. I believe (hope) there is more coming with TBS and Fred.

 

My guess is, legally he cannot say anything until there is an official announcement.

Man, that TBS announcement is going to be wild. No more Mark, John taking a leave and Fred coming back.

Is there any evidence of this at all other than a poster here saying so? I'm not saying it won't happen, who knows, but I'm not sure there is any productive discourse to be had about it until we get an official announcement from the band.

That was enough to set him off, Ed is (understandably, I think) really pissed at the band.
And yeah there hasn't been an official statement of anything. But Fred will tour with the band in 2025 in place of John. You will remember me when this is announced

 

I wonder if they will ever really address the Mark situation. It was very messy from what I've heard

If they haven't addressed the Mark situation by now, I can't imagine they will until next year when/if they announce that Fred is touring with TBS.

 

My guess is Mark will announce his departure when he officially announces whatever solo project he is releasing.
