the amount of people that say "adam seems drunk" when it's just adam being adam. quit publicly questioning people's sobriety when you don't know anything about the person. yeesh.
Amen, brother. I swear it's an age thing, too. In the early 2000s when he was in his peak party phase, no one batted an eye. Now that he's older and is actually sober, now everyone is concerned. If he was still his 20-something self here I don't think we'd be seeing any of these posts.
Yeah, I really can’t stand the whole “omg is he on drugs??” conversation, and speculating or making assumptions on a person’s sobriety or lack thereof. Has Adam been performing a little goofy the last few years? Yes. But when they’re just talking/interacting with the crowd between songs, he’s perfectly lucid (annoying southern preacher affect aside). It’s not like he’s taking 15 minutes during a show to sit down and slur his way through random topics.
I wasn't complaining. The fill in on current tour was really rough around the edges and all over the place (in fairness, we were one of the first stops so Im sure he was adjusting on the fly), but other than that I hadn't ever noticed it until I just saw this video and thought they were playing it slow as hell... until I realized they were playing it as it was recorded. My ears are just used to them playing songs faster than the recording I guess
I couldn’t tell you when they started playing “slower,” but it was noticeable to me on the 20 year tour.
John. Is. Out. Shaun. Is. Out. Fred. Is. In. Rubano. Is. In. Fred. Is. Out. Fazzi. Is. In. Rubano. Is. Out. Fazzi. Is. Out. John. Is. In. Shaun. Is. In. Eddie. Is. Out. Mark. Is. Out.
I don’t know what the photo is about, but I know on the recent run of dates with the used they were still saying Mitch was filling in. It’s a weird situation because they’re “not saying anything” but I also get the feeling that it’s possible there’s nothing more to say right now? They could very well be holding the space for Mark in hopes that he comes back soon, and they could be keeping the situation quiet because it’s personal/private and not their story to tell. They’ve been pretty nonstop with the touring since Mark needed to take personal time, so maybe between that and their own personal lives and obligations (they do all have families), they haven’t had a chance to get back together with him. After a prolonged absence (and based on some of the speculation everybody’s been doing), maybe jumping right back into touring and doing shows isn’t the best way to handle whatever is going on that prompted Mark to need to take personal time.
Didn’t they once say the album was recorded without a click track and the tempo is all over the place on the record because of that? I feel like it would be hard to judge what the right one is based on that alone
A post from the last page or two about Adam's preacher effect (lol), is that new or has he always done it? I've only seen TBS once, in 2023. Would also like to add my appreciation for 152. I haven't really enjoyed anything since New Again (very underrated), but the additions of the new songs really gave the setlist some punch.
He's leaned really hard into the southern preacher/carnival barker shtick over the years, but he wasn't always like that, no.
Thanks. I did find it odd during the show but completely forgot until reading that post, haha. His singing voice sounded fine that night, but some of the WWWY videos were concerning.
