I remember before the self-titled came out there was someone asking Mark and Shaun in an interview if This Is All Now was going to radio and they both just gave each other a look, like they knew that Warner was already done with them before the album even came out. Basically they did a radio rock album for nothing (I do enjoy it though) anyway this rollout so far has been stellar for them. I thought both videos were great and it’s clear that another one is already filmed, presumably set for the album release. Seems like they’ve found a label willing to put in some work for them and that makes me happy to see
S’old is gonna be really hard to pull off live but I love the song, love the video for what it is, love Adam’s singing here, and honestly just love Adam’s whole aesthetic lol very on board for this one. Reminds me a bit of Stood a Chance where they’re just having a good time.
least self-titled was produced by eric valentine and sounded good! they admitted in hindsight they never should have put an album production wise sounding with new again to follow up louder now, plus they wanted shaun & john to meet eric and have the same experience they had with him on LN, so that always makes me wonder why they didn't just do 3 in a row with him? ah well!
If I remember right it was a scheduling thing. I think Adam said that once New Again was done, Eric was finally available. Can’t remember where or when I saw that but I’m pretty sure I did haha
theres a post somewhere on this site, from months-to-years ago, where I express that I don’t like hearing a song for the first time live, because it’s hard to remember anything later. that said, there is also a post far back in this very thread where, despite how much I love seeing TBS live, I agreed with the cacophony of other posts expressing how bad Adam sounded. So regardless, I was right heh.
Yeah happiness is is great and tidal wave is decent too. My biggest request/complaint/whatever is I wish they’d stop running from the dual vocals “gimmick” (I feel like I saw them call it that in an interview years ago) and embrace it instead. My favorite aspect of the band was that for the first 3 albums, and they don’t utilize it enough now
Yeah I remember that old interview, it was weird, like they were shitting on Fred and the fans at the same time. Making fun of all the hammer-ons and pull-offs in his guitar parts and calling dual vocals a gimmick as if those weren't some of the things that made them popular in the first place
