I stand by the laser sounds being weird and liked Straylight Run more but the album has grown on me in time and I gave Louder Now a good review! I’m too old for fights I’m not Zuck
TBS never did like AP.net lol I still remember the April fools where the site did a chat or Q&A or whatever it was called with “Eddie” and I fell for that shit. Rude
Deciding to throw on that Terrible Things record after listening to that podcast. Yeah, this album still slaps. Totally agree with Fred that this feels like a continuation of Louder Now. Throw the TBS name on it and have Adam singing, and Up All Night would’ve been a hit
The Hills of Birmingham might be the best song Fred has written I would kill to be that good at guitar, especially while singing. Crazy.
tbf I assume had he stayed with TBS that a lot of those songs would have gotten a more rock and roll sheen to them. Really would love to hear the TBS version of Hate to See You Go
it was the Going Off Track podcast hosted by one of the guys from Gaslight Anthem https://overcast.fm/+BJknxTeM0
I also recommend Andy Jackson's album under the moniker Death In The Park, which was released around the same time as New Again and a while before Terrible Things, but may have gotten forgotten aside from the feature with Hayley Williams. Judging from what I remember from it, I feel like his contributions to TBS would've been closer to Fred than what Matt and then John gave us afterwards.
I believe he said he had a shoulder injury on the other side that the strap was worsening or something like that
