yeah I definitely do not like or condone New Again but it's Stairway to Heaven compared to the Self Titled.

 

I think the bad stuff on both New Again and self titled is mostly equally bad. Self titled just has a more songs I like

Tidal Wave songs I like:

Death Wolf

Self Titled songs I like:

El Paso

Sooooo I guess technically I like New Again and Self Titled equally, which is more than Tidal Wave.

I would take "El Paso" and "Flicker Fade" over any other TBS song released from 2009 onward.

 

I’ve been thinking about getting a New Again tattoo for a while now. Swing is nowhere near my favorite TBS song, but I like the lyric “passion over consequence”.

Envisioning a traditional style tattoo with a knife or sword with a banner and “passion over consequence” wrapping around it.

 

I love the idea of someone close to the band monitoring this thread every so often.

Reporting back to management and the band:

"Other topics come and go, but they've been arguing about New Again for roughly 4000 posts"

 

If they judged anything off this thread they would've done a New Again anniversary tour so that's not true

 

Tidal Wave has about three songs I usually skip (I Felt It Too, Middle Of It All, We Don't Go In There), but that opening run from "Death Wolf" through to "All Excess" is so good that I could never end up putting it below New Again or the self-titled. Plus it has Holy Water, which is my favorite reunion track. Tidal Wave also has a cohesiveness that New Again and self-titled don't really have. So even those songs that I sometimes skip still at least feel like they fit the themes and style of the album.

 

If TBS did a New Again anniversary tour where they only played in peoples backyards, would you go?

No. Too many songs I hate to get to the second portion of the set. Not worth it to me.

 

Cut Me Up Jenny is the only NA song I skip occasionally because of that high pitch shriek Adam does, but I don't outright hate it

 

The reverend carnival barker Adam Lazzara can shriek at me as much as he wants.

 

The hand motions here are killing me lmao. Also I don't understand why John wears the guitar strap like that.

Sounds pretty good though compared to some of the other videos floating around from the tour
