looks like it was the house of one of the members of I Am The Avalanche, so yeah, probably a pretty private affair for purposes of what looks like a video shoot. still awesome lol
I was at this show. I also was at the charity show they did at RJ’s in RVC maybe a year later. Was anyone there? If so I apologize that you had to witness my horrible ex-boyfriend sing the entirety of MakeDamnSure instead of Adam.
Whatever they did in Lindenhurst was definitely filmed intentionally. I spy a shoulder mounted cinema rig, a steadicam cinema rig, and a bunch of handheld hybrid cams with external recorders. Whatever it was, people in attendance can only post the “live stuff”
Missing the show at The Inn in Long Beach hurt. I lived two blocks away at the time but was at work in the city and couldn’t get on line.
yeah i remember that, was a 'dress rehearsal' show for their great south bay festival performance the next night. we already had tickets for the festival so i didnt want to just bang out of work and drive 90mph to long beach
i guess if they were indeed filming a video for S'old, we can probably expect an announcement within the next few weeks?
I moved away from the island back in 2011, then all this cool stuff started happening. I was going to fly back for the surf festival they were going to headline too, but Hurricane Sandy had other plans.
I saw an Instagram story where they played s’old with the cameras all around them, but there are zero other videos of this happening anywhere else so it feels likely it’ll be a video for that? the set itself was only 6-7 songs from what I can gather
i've seen videos of: Great Romances What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost MakeDamnSure You're So Last Summer You Know How I Do Timberwolves At New Jersey Error Operator if anyone knows of anything else send em along haha.
Seems like these videos have picked up momentum. Barstool shared it out. May be a good time to announce a new album and get preorders up. Maybe even some vintage merch. Threw on Tidal Wave on the way to work and forgot that I liked it as much as I did. The smart play for them I feel would be multiple nights in smaller venues. They just need to give up the dream of playing in sheds.
i love TBS more than just about anyone, but their marketing / PR has never been great. releasing at least a snippet of the new song or at least teasing the new album yesterday was a no-brainer after all that free PR.
I would pay an absurd amount of money to see them in a small venue setting like this, the energy looks so great.
I dunno. The way people were just launching themselves on others is kind of a nightmare scenario to me. Like, be rowdy, it’s a backyard show. But throwing yourself on others is just a 0 out of 10 activity to me. Crowdsurfing is one thing, and I still don’t like. But generally you have time to put your hands up to protect yourself and keep them up. That pit does not look fun to me. I’d be in the back 100%.
I mean, that changes nothing for me. If everyone there was down for it, more power to them. But that’s a hard pass for me.
I get not liking when it’s rough, but the show was probably no more than 100 people and most of them are from within the LIHC scene (and veterans of it), so it’s probably likely that most people there were looking for that kind of experience. It was so small though, that I bet standing off to the side still had a great view and experience.
