God forbid a band waiting until things are all lined up and ready, and throwing around little teases in the meantime. Not like y’all dorks are expecting music you’ll like based on your reactions to their choice in producer, lol.
Nah, it’d look more like this: “Adam’s voice has actually improved a lot and it’s probably taken him tonnns of practice. It’s gotta be hard playing night after night after night giving our fans what they want. The new music will probably be great and I bet real fans will love it.”
The TBS thread cycle "Achtuallyyyy New Again is good" "What are they doing they owe us new music" That's it
Happiness Is… is the only album I’ve never listened to in full. Idk, whatever. I was listening to Tidal Wave this morning, and as much as I like a lot of what it’s got going on, it just doesn’t quite click together for me. For an album named after water, it doesn’t flow the way I’d want it to. Still got enough going for it that I’m eager to hear what comes next, though, especially after so many years.
I’m curious if the exit of Eddie is having any impact on this long gap between new albums. I’d take TW over Happiness
I really loved both albums when they came out, but I haven't revisited them in some time. I have a feeling what we get from them next will be completely different.
Both John and Mark have posted photos of the band in the same space (and in matching The Maine you are ok colored suits) on their Instagram stories within the past 24 hours, since there was a comment a little while ago about a lack of posts from the band members themselves. I’ve seen a fair amount of posts from them over the course of the past year and a half alluding to recording but they tend to be in stories vs on the grid, and nobody is that good at saving them as highlights.
I like tidal wave a lot but outside of my favorites I find it less memorable. HI is a 9/10 for me. More consistent, higher highs, higher floor. If you get rid of Like You Do it’s largely perfect.
