All the talk about them being uninterested is just wild to me. These guys all have lives & partners that exist outside of Taking Back Sunday. A quick look at any of their socials makes that very evident. Camille makes music, Misha is an author and went back to school, they're all taking care of their children and literally just living life. Even Adam has honed in on production the past few years. These are all things that would appear to be keeping them very busy and their eyes set on the future of their lives. In order for all of those things to happen, some things have to take a backseat and maybe that thing was Taking Back Sunday. That doesn't mean they can't play a good tour support spot, or a do a festival, or a small tour when it makes sense. It also doesn't mean they're not interested in making music, it just might not have been the priority in their overall lives.
I feel a little selfish saying that I’m running out of patience for news on the album because I don’t know the behind the scenes stuff here. I do hope that in this time they’ve found a good team to back them and give them the support they need and deserve. I hope that’s part of what’s been taking so long. I want to see them thrive going forward and not just have to rely on the nostalgia factor. They can’t go on like that too much longer. I’m so hungry for new music from them that I legit loved the Steve Aoki collab, y’all.
"ahh I see the TBS thread has activity. I bet they are talking about New Again" Every time. Surely we'll get another new single this year.
Tushar Apte, who is doing their new album, was finishing the mixes a couple weeks back so it shouldn't be that long before we hear something.
Yeah I don't remember how but some folks on their subreddit figured out the band was making the album with him. Reddit - Dive into anything Reddit - Dive into anything He's worked with Steve Aoki, who TBS put out a song with recently so perhaps that's the connection.
"They took their OG vibe and moved it forward"? That just sounds like it'll be modern pop. That's wild.
Wanna puke at his first Wikipedia sentence... Tushar Apte is an Australian record producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, best known for his work with Chris Brown
Idk, I kinda doubt working with this producer means their album will sound like a Steve Aoki remix, lol.
It’s not much different from Foo Fighters working with someone like Greg Kurstin. Although, listen. I know earlier I said I loved Just Us Two but the album better not sound like that hahaha
Eh, I haven't liked much of, if any, what the Foo Fighters have done since Wasting Light (their best album). I would love for the album to sound more in the vein of Love You A Little. That song is a banger.
new again is a solid record. everything must go is a top 10, maybe 5 tbs song for me in regards to new music, i’m sure they are eager to put stuff out. remember when they did that tour with 3EB and did that joint interview with alt press where both adam and stephan jenkins were like “we’re excited to have new music to play, we don’t think of ourselves as legacy bands” while, personally, i think that is undeniably incorrect for both bands, i can see them going the 3EB route. no one has really bought their last 2 albums (i’m pretty sure neither even cracked the billboard 200), but they’re gonna play 3-4 new songs live for their own sake and give their fans a bathroom/drink fetching break haha
Yea, nothing like a summer bonfire where you toss copies of New Again in. Perfect summer album, indeed.
