TAYF gets a lot of shit around here. I get it. But it was so influential in my music tastes today. It will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. Like when I hear the opening riff to You Know How I Do and I’m immediately transported to last year’s 20th anniversary. Time flies.
I think it’s less that TAYF gets shit and it’s more that the band seems to be constantly celebrating it. Add in the lack of new material for many years and some people are salty.
The only acceptable merch items for the 21st anniversary would be pint glasses, shot glasses, flasks, etc.
"Very likely." They said they were mixing the new album three months ago, and the tour is three months from now. How can they not even fully commit to playing new songs on the tour? Every sparse update on this album has been so wishy-washy and noncommittal for years now.
i don't want to speculate much because obviously i have absolutely no idea, but my guess is something more than just the pandemic went into the longer than usual delay in releasing new music. i've always wondered if the removal of eddie from the band caused legal issues that needed to be settled before they could continue on. regardless, i am very ready for them to begin a new cycle. feels like we're there.
Tbs is just going to go the Billy Joel route and stop releasing new material and just have a residency at Mulcahys instead of MSG haha
To be fair, the “very likely” sentence is followed by a winky face, lol. That very much so reads to me as a cutesy way of confirming there will be something new in their set list.
YEah I didn't read that as "not sure if there will be", rather them just using language flippantly there. I also tend to say things like "most likely" and such when I really mean "definitely" haha
