always weird to me that that song didn’t catch on more, especially from that album. Top tier song for me.
To be fair, being one of my favorite songs on my least favorite TBS album isn't a very high bar to clear
I mean the clear loser from their entire catalog is Who Are You Anyway. A lot of that album makes me cringe, but that song in particular is woof.
Money is them trying to recreate the Fred era without Fred and failing. It's one of their worst songs as a band imo, maybe their worst song. Rest of the S/T is great though.
they just played an acoustic show in Alaska with just Adam, John, and Nathan and they whipped out 'Sad Savior'. I will always remain a Sad Savior defender and I'd love to see that one find its way into a setlist rotation.
Best Places, This is All Now and Call Me in the Morning are easily the best three songs on ST. I can stomach El Paso and Faith, but the rest is not good. It's their worst album by a mile and given the hype and expectations of the reunion, it's probably the most disappointing album from any band/artist that I follow.
It really can't be their least good album when Happiness Is exists. Mostly a snoozer outside of a couple good songs, and they really baited me into getting hyped when they released Flicker, Fade as the lead single. Was not representative of the rest of the album at all lol. But S/T and Tidal Wave were great so it's still been mostly good since the reunion.
i feel like i've exhumed my opinions about the s/t thousands of times in this thread, but it absolutely feels like their most overworked record, and unfortunately we have the demos to confirm it. i however think "you got me" is one of their best straightforward jams!!!! and "sad savior" has always been dope
