So dumb lol cmon there is so much good pre Fred content to pull from. Put the whole demo on, one of the acoustic shows, a couple other live versions, Sal, YOD, and that’s before you even get to the songs they were playing live in between albums. Must be saving it for TAYF 25
I can only assume the lack of alternate/bonus tracks is so it all fits on a single LP but wow what a boring re-release.
these also arent even unreleased demos, ive had that Great Romances demo for like 15 years since the age of limewire lol
I feel like I do this once a year in this thread but that’s okay - I’ve made my peace with it: New Again WYWTB Louder Now TAYF Happiness TW S/T
Feel like it's a tall task to find an album that was more hyped and anticipated in this scene—and then promptly disappointed immensely—than Self-Titled did.
It’s a classic cautionary tale of “be careful what you wish for..” It was funny to see people who hated New Again try to argue that S/T was still better lol
Would take the good half of s/t over the 4 or 5 good songs on New Again every day of the week Wouldn't change Nolan coming back in the band either since I am also in the "last two albums are their best" camp
Self titled is much better than New Again. But, to be fair, that’s not saying much when the bar is that low.
I also enjoy the highs of S/T much more than NA. NA is probably a little more cohesive but I like the songs of S/T more. S/T has a few clunkers that definitely should have been replaced by some of the demos that they released at the time. Macky Sasser, Semi-Automatic, You Should Have Waited, etc
i seems doubtful, they have a summer tour supporting 3EB and then supporting MCR in the fall on some dates, unless they were going to announce like, a few one off TAYF anniversary shows in New York or something, i doubt there's anything else. certainly not an album announcement. they hinted a while back on twitter that Craft Recordings was doing something fun for them re-issue wise so, this is absolutely it.
