The magic of live music has nothing to do with not knowing what would be played for me. If anything it’s nice to know you’ll definitely be hearing your favorite songs from that album. Anticipating when they get to that song and they finally start is a great feeling. I think hearing a song live can also help you appreciate it more and only deepen your enjoyment of it by becoming a specific memory of that concert. Edit: most bands don’t do the full album for their new stuff anyway, so you don’t have much to worry about.
I'm waiting on the three-part TAYF20 vinyl ultra bundle release: 1. TAYF: Reimagined — A total reworking and re-recording of the album 2. TAYF: Collabs - Featuring guest vocals in every song 3. TAYF: Live Acoustic, again — Because why not? Then after that they can get to work on the My Name Is Jonas cover music video as new material perpetually remains in the "early stages."
bc the actual production is awful. Out of tune guitars, out of tune vocals, mark not following a metronome…It would have given the songs a new life of their own. Fans wouldn’t like it though bc there’s no way Adam and John can recapture that angst they had. It would’ve been a re-imaging, which would’ve been cool but probably not what would’ve been expected.
The imperfections are a part of what makes it a special listen still. There’s no need for a cleaned up version.
Back in the Fred era I remember there being rumors that they were gonna re record it with him. Seemed like such a ridiculous idea at the time, but now I think it would’ve been cool if they recorded like a 3 song EP of TAYF re-recordings. Not a whole album though
TAYF used to be my favorite album, and now I just can't listen to it anymore because of the production. I don't think Adams current voice would suit a re-recording though
I listen to the live versions of songs from TAYF more than the record. Between Orensanz and the live at Bamboozle album, those recordings are mint. Edit: Granted it's not many of the tracks
They obviously were gonna do something for the 20th anniversary. Hopefully it's just a vinyl repressing. Please no anniversary tour.
when they titled it tell all your friends, they weren't joking. they don't shut the fuck up about that record.
Ok so that intro is only from the demo version of Great Romances right? I guess this re-release will include remastered demos or...something.
Yea, has that version ever been officially available? I know there was a version of the studio version with the intro, but I think it was fan made on YouTube.
