It’s hard to imagine how good the Louder Now lineup would be right now, especially if that lineup went to places like “All the Way.”
I always felt like All The Way was a John influenced song, but I have absolutely no proof of that. im always curious what the LN lineup would have done as a follow up. I love NA but have always been curious what would have gone next. Would it have basically been A NA /terrible things mashup? That could’ve been kinda interesting
Definitely agree that TBS has always been the sum of all its parts, and it's not like Fred could've made Louder Now on his own. But I totally understand his frustration at the time. He was a little older than the rest, he had 2 kids already at the time. And hard enough that he was being kept away from them for all those months, it probably was infuriating to watch the other guys go off on vacation and bask in the rock star life while he was being pulled away from his kids to be the lone member overseeing the mixes. He says in the doc that he's grown from it and has no hard feelings, but you can tell he's still bitter the way he laughs when saying "Mark was in Bermuda" haha.
Bought my tickets to see them in Orlando with Emery and Evergreen Terrace. Kind of bummed I missed out on VIP tickets but had to wait until pay day.
If the ex members of tbs create an ex-members of tbs band, that’ll be fucking sad man. Idt Rubano would ever go near that...
I think past TBS members forming a band is a fun idea to entertain based on the impression they'd write together and it would be a casual thing. I don't think anyone here is thinking of or would want something like XEB.
if people that used to play music together created a band so they could play music together again, that’d be sad.
it'd be like that Third Eye Blind cover band made up of ex-members of the band haha. i don't think the TBS dudes would actually do that. but if a couple of them were to start a band, i could see them playing a TBS song or two live, which is fine.
The lady and I will be there! The VIP wasn’t worth it in my opinion. I don’t think you’ll miss out on anything with that.
I agree, I dont think Rubano would go anywhere near that. Not only because he's got a sweet gig now being in Angels & Airwaves, but I don't think him and Eddie got along that great. Rubano and Fazzi did mesh well, and I would love it if they did something together one day. And I wouldn't mind if Eddie joined The Color Fred, so long as they don't rely on playing TBS covers for their sets.
Did Eddie and Rubano not get along? I thought it was Rubano and Fred that didn’t really get along. I remember seeing them in behind the scenes stuff for LN, and they always seemed to have tension/be picking on each other
Matt and Eddie Reyes had a big falling out towards the end of Matt's tenure in the group. Ed accused him of trying to take control of the band and developing a massive ego (IMO, he was projecting his own insecurities). It was Ed who delivered the news to Matt that he was being fired (over a conference call). They're cool with each other now.
