Hasn't it been like years now where Eddie has been hit or miss at shows? That's odd. I think they originally tweeted to someone that he was dealing with health issues with a family member a year or so ago (maybe one of his kids?) I get missing one or two tours but It's been several tours in a row for years now that he's been gone or hit or miss and no real official announcement has been made. Also, he hasn't tweeted anything in over a year. You'd think he'd still be promoting tours, singles, merch even if he weren't touring with the band. Obviously, if it were a health issue, take as much time as you need, but strange that there was never really any official announcement by the band and/or Eddie after this much time. If you do a Twitter search of "Eddie Reyes" it's non stop 'where is Eddie Reyes' tweets. You'd think there would have been an update and/or announcement from band/Eddie.
I'm pretty sure they said it was his daughter who was dealing with the health issues. It's been quite a while so hopefully, everything's okay. I miss Eddie.
I still think it's a bit curious that nothing was said or announced. TBS is super active on twitter, it's no doubt that they've seen people questioning or commenting.
He's 44-years-old...it's possible he maybe just semi-retired and only wants to play a handful of shows. He is the founding member, so out of respect/contractual obligations, the rest of the band just lets him do whatever. Who knows?
Can't upload a pic from mobile but i am FB friends with eddie and it looks like someone posted on his page Friday asking where hes been and his brother commented that he's doing fine and just handling some personal business, and that he'd be back on the road soon.
that would seem more than understandable, I think the main issue people had was not the reason for his absence, but the lack of acknowledgement from the band. normally i'd say who cares it's their business, but they've set so much precedent in regards to a situation like this, announcing when band members had to be briefly replaced or leave tours early, it just seemed so odd that this wasn't cleared up right away. seems like we are making a bigger deal than necessary though, which is good. would hate to see eddie no longer in TBS.
Eddies prob just dealing with some personal/family stuff im sure all is well. he seems very happy with how TW was received and looks like hes having a good time live. if anything id say hes so underrated as a guitarist. sure hes mostly playing rhythm but hes still creative and consistent with his playing. plus hes written some of the best TBS songs around like 180 By Summer. something fun i wish ETID and TBS would do on this tour is switch out members randomly. id love to hear Adam take a stab at some ETID songs and for Keith to play around with some TBS songs.
I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Keith has filled in for Adam already before and from what I remember the videos were insanely cool. It was either him or someone else who fronted a band like ETID. Maybe spencer from UO? Not 100%...
it was Spencer yeah. he did pretty well, Spencer had some good clean vocals. Keith did some vocals along with Adam on "El Paso" once i think that video is on youtube
It was Warped 2012. John Nolan had to miss a show so Keith, Geoff from Thursday, and some others filled in
I drove to Oklahoma to see TBS with Spencer. It was a great show Unfortunately I also got arrested that night and it was a whole legal ordeal
Weird seeing so many favorite bands of mine lend their lead vocalists to TBS another one of my favorite bands. Geoff, keith, I'm pretty sure Bert from The Used and Gerard from MCR have also filled in
I have been extremely happy with this tour and the setlist. I was at the Atlanta show, and it may be one of their best shows I've seen them have. And Spin and EMG on the set? Yes please
