Judging from that track by track interview, it is among Adam's least favorites from the album (at least initially)
I cannot imagine a world where Up Against and/or Twenty Twenty are not on Louder now. I won't stand for it.
There are so many B Sides from bands around this time that I question who made the final decision to leave them off. Bombers by Yellowcard is a prime example.
1. what's it feel like to be a ghost 2. liar 3. makedamnsure 4. up against 5. my blue heaven 6. twenty twenty surgery 7. brooklyn 8. spin 9. divine intervention 10. miami 11. sleep 12. error: operator 13. i'll let you live idk, i hate resequencing, but this is how i'd rock it
Up Against has grown on me over the years. Twenty Twenty Surgery needs to go. Brooklyn is one of their best songs.
as much as i might quibble with sequencing of albums, i would never dare to resequence an album myself
I listened to the Fantastic Four version of Error: Operator last night for the first time, and that was a trip
I've never understood the love for Sleep. It's okay. You could slot Brooklyn in right after I'll Let You Live and I think it would work great. Scrap Up Against if you want to keep it at 11 tracks.
"brooklyn" feels v much like a mid-album side ender to me and not a closer. "i'll let you live" is a fuckin incredible closer and i'm still waiting for everyone to recognize it
Brooklyn has always had closer energy to me. I just can't picture it anywhere but the end or maybe second to last. I'll Let You Live is a great song as well and definitely doesn't fit anywhere but as closer.
The track by track was cool. I didn't know Adam came up with the riff for Ghost or that it was inspired by Queens of the Stone Age. Mark is always super honest in these types of interviews. Flat out saying he did not like Miami while Adam loves it.
just listened to a bit of the track by track and never knew the sound in the bridge to MDS was actually a voice, i always thought it was like weird distorted feedback or something.
Going through Louder Now for the first time in a while. It's still a very good album. Holy hell I forgot how much Spin slaps.
