Love posting in here, Taking Back Sunday - New Again (June 2, 2009; Warner Bros.), my favourite thread on Chorus.
The only song I don't like off New Again is, ironically, Sink Into Me. The rest are top tier TBS and I will always be stoked to see more and more realizing the awesomeness that NA is
Both he and the band played a snippet of it on Instagram since it’s still available til the 25th. It’s actually a very cool set up and looks great. But man does his voice sound as strained as ever (given the two different clips I heard).
I understand not liking new again as much as the others but for me it’s, at worst, the more straightforward barroom hard rock-y album of the pre-happiness is era of the band. Can’t for the life of me understand how this is the controversial one lol.
I just watched the live stream, his voice sounded rough but he’s a good dude and i respect the effort. His loop ideas were pretty cool.
sorry about new again, i was just having some fun my favorite thing to come out of that time was orensanz.. and the bamboozle live album
I think that lyric was what stuck with me first from Carpathia. I really liked it at 16 or whatever age I was. Easily the best song on the album for me then, still holds up today along with the closer and Swing. The arguments about the album have happened forever now and it’s the most polarizing record they’ve released. My biggest problem with it is that they released it for the public ear, promoted it, pretended to love it for a couple years, then trashed it at every opportunity once the era was behind them. If it wasn’t good to you, why would you not fix the problems you had with it before releasing it? Why would you allow the music to be created in the first place? We got the AP feature that talked about the weird studio dynamics but it’s still frustrating. I enjoy the album and I’ve said countless times that I would love to just hear them pull out one song from it live sometime. When you’re a band with as much of a fanbase as this one, even your worst material is phenomenal to some of your fanbase.
The Bamboozle record is severely underrated. Fazzi was underutilized in the studio but shines there. ...SEABOARD.
The TAYF songs sound absolutely MASSIVE. The endings of You Know How I Do and You're So Last Summer are awesome.
Little guitar flourishes on CWOTE and all of the vocal performances (manipulated as they are) are superior versions to some of the studio tracks, for sure. Again I say: SEABOARD!
Ghost was also a fantastic opening choice when they opened with the hits for all the TAYF-10 shows, but YKHID should definitely be the every day opener.
Yeah the setlist for Bamboozle was so good. YKHID is a perfect opener. And Carpathia and 180 should always be played
SEABOARD! I am so happy I'm not alone in this. I put these versions on before the album ones almost every single time. OH! And Error Operator on this? *chef kiss* Louder Now pt.2 is also a fantastic sounding live record.
does anyone know what adam sings in the live from orensanz version of your own disaster right before the hey lush part? i can never understand it.
