It’s always tough for me to fully enjoy “You Should Have Waited” knowing this was the original idea. I get that they changed it because of the similarities to Sum 41’s “Still Waiting” but man, a studio recording of this version would have ruled so hard.
I'm sure they have one. They wouldn't have teased us with that version if the full thing hadn't been recorded. Same goes for the first Best Places To Be A Mom demo. I totally suffered from demoitis with those two songs, and it partly soured S/T for me.
For Trump to knock out Bush for the no. 1 spot? Yeah. The Patriot Act and The War in Afghanistan are pretty fucking heinous stuff.
He’ll definitely play Miami. He always talks about that being his favorite TBS song. and yeah, this won’t be any good, haha.
I haven't watched the past few video podcasts they released, but have they mentioned anything about a new album? It has now been over four years since Tidal Wave. I know the pandemic is keeping them apart, but a lot of progress can be made collaborating remotely. The live streams and podcasts are nice, but it's getting a little old. It's time for new music.
this is way easier said than done. i agree with your sentiment overall, but there are plenty of artists we KNOW of sitting on material right now because they can't tour on it or profit off it the way they need to, so i can't imagine how many artists we don't know about that are sitting on new tunes. For all we know TBS could have an album demo'd and ready. These guys absolutely rely on tours to make money nowadays, no chance we get a new album from them until they can get out and support it.
This is a valid point. I'd even be satisfied with old unreleased material at this point. Mark released a demo I had never heard on his Instagram a few years ago. They could raise money by releasing an album full of old stuff like this, and we'd all love to hear it.
I’d be totally shocked if they had anything recorded or anything close to finalized. They spent the entirety of 2019 on the Twenty tour and during all that press they talked about nothing concrete for a new album and that after touring they were going to take a break and then start writing. I think they posted a few writing sessions like literally right before the pandemic hit and then stopped. I suppose it’s possible they are sharing ideas/writing remotely but they seem like the type of band that needs to be in a room together when making an album.
