Ok, think i can officially rank now. The first three were hard firstly, because WYWTB was my first album and first favorite and secondly, while i think LN is the better album, i think if i had TAYF on my mp3 still, I'd listen to it more and it'd be my favorite. Well anyway, here goes! Louder Now Tell All Your Friends Where You Want To Be Happiness Is Tidal Wave . . . New Again and Self Titled Lol
Where You Want To Be New Again Louder Now Happiness Is Tidal Wave Tell All Your Friends Taking Back Sunday I think at this point, I find my top three the ones I return to the most because that’s when the band had the most skilled musicians in their lineup. Rubano paired with Fred or Fazzi is never a boring listen for me.
I like all their albums to a certain degree, but this is how I'm feeling right now: Where You Want To Be Louder Now New Again Tell All Your Friends Tidal Wave Happiness Is Taking Back Sunday
I mean, I think for a lot of people their love for it is based on nostalgia and memories of a particular time in their lives and likely very specific relationships and not as much on song writing and things like that.
I could go on endlessly about how much I enjoy New Again. Creatively, I think it’s their best record and much of the production is killer. Of course the shift in lyrical style and delivery from that of their earlier career is a bit jarring, and Fazzi’s voice was far too buried, but I appreciate the risks the band took on that record, and believe they had a firm grasp on how to execute their ideas, even though some of those ideas were clearly stronger than others, but it’s a fascinating listen all the same.
i see we're talking about whether new again is good... again (imo it's great and it's still one of their worst records, i like and listen to it more than the s/t)
Heh that's crazy to me. I understand a good majority of the songs not doing anything for fans of TBS's past albums, but to not even like a single song on there is weird. Swing could easily have been on Louder Now
