I was about to rank their albums and then I realized how hard that is. All their albums have highs and lows for me, but here's my best shot at Where You Want To Be Louder Now Tell All Your Friends Tidal Wave Happiness Is... Taking Back Sunday New Again
Louder Now > Tidal Wave > Happiness Is > New Again > Where You Want To Be > Tell All Your Friends > S/T
Oh wow, Cam Boucher's in it? So crazy and cool seeing a guy I knew in high school being a part of this. Really happy for him. This looks like a very cool comp, interested to hear Anthony Green and Frank Iero's stuff, too.
"You know I, I could take the place of those pills Ocean blue, paint it white Now who ya gonna call tonight?" Is probably the post they're referring to
Just listened to self-titled for the first time in a few years and it's aged quite well. Also, does anyone know the story behind the album art, it's always intrigued me
it's probably my least favorite record from them, but this is all now, you got me, and call me in the morning are favorites. also, all those demos are damn good. i need to make an alternate tracklist with those worked in, and i'd probably rank it higher up in the discography
This Is All Now, Best Places To Be A Mom, You Got Me, Call Me In The Morning, Sad Savior... It's a hell of a record, easily their most underrated
The bsides and demos are so good, some of the best stuff they've ever written in their entire career. Such a shame the regular album is a mess
It has a lot of the darker side of Adam's lyrics that I absolutely love. I think it's a great record front to back. only tracks I don't really care for are Money and It Doesn't Feel A Thing Like Falling
To me, Self-Titled was a mess, but much of that could be contributed to the insanely high expectations of the original line-up reuniting. The only songs I really return to are Best Places, This is All Now and Call Me in the Morning. I can stomach El Paso, Faith, Sad Savior & Money too but I don't really go back to that record at all.
Where is that original You Should Have Waited Demo ? Can't believe they never released it and that all we have is a 30 sec snippet on their first writing sessions video. It's easily the best version, isn't it the one they played live on their reunion tour ? That Sexy Pirate song ?
If I could hear the B sides somewhere other than YouTube I might care more about them. As it is, half of that album are all time favorite TBS songs and the other half is still solid
I listened to both NA and LN for the first time in awhile to decide if I wanted to buy the represses on vinyl... NA holds up so much better than I remember. I definitely enjoyed my listen of that one more than LN. I think I let public perception, and the bands comments toward NA sour it more than I should have. Still think the self titled is easily their worst
I've come to appreciate New Again over the years but I'd say it's their second weakest. I'm probably the only TBS fan anywhere you could find that would argue EMG is one of their most overrated songs. Adam's vocals are all-time screechy in that song and his voice can't match the high-pitches near the end. Summer, Man, Swing, WMMI, Cut Me Up Jenny & Carpathia are all major jams though.
I like El Paso a lot on its own but it really doesn't fit in with the rest of s/t. Probably would have been better as a b-side tbh. Wicked fun live opener though.
