Loved that Fred video. He seems like such a great and genuine guy. It's cool that he started developing that pull off riff style on WYWTB, I feel like that's pretty much his signature style at this point.
That video made me realize how much of an influence Fred had on my guitar playing, especially with that pull off thing that I think Matt from Emery includes a lot in his guitar parts as well.
Yup, Fred and Quinn Allman were huge guitar influencers of mine in the early to mid 2000’s. They came after Brian Baker of Bad Religion and obviously Tom DeLonge lol.
I just listened back to the whole thing again, and I agree. HI and Tidal Wave are the closest the band ever came to matching the overall quality/excellence of WYWTB.
Same here! To the point where I wrote one pull-off melody for a band I was in 6 years ago then recycled it for another band I was in 3 years later...kinda like what Fred did with the Little Devotional/Lullaby riff haha
Tidal wave i think is the closest they’ve come to match wywtb. If they started the album with You can’t look back, and left off death wolf and tidal wave, it would be a near perfect album for me.
I just discovered/re-discovered that the lead guitar at the beginning of Little Devotional was reused in Lullaby by Terrible Things. Nice easter egg for TBS fans.
Cool! Hopefully they release the remastered tracks digitally - last thing I need is another copy of TAYF on vinyl haha
It would be cool if one day they did a reunion tour that included some past members. I know it's probably very unlikely.
The Ultimate Taking Back Sunday Show: 6 p.m. The Color Fred 6:45 p.m. Terrible Things 7:45 p.m. Straylight Run 9:15 p.m. Taking Back Sunday I'd pay lots of money.
