'It's amazing that 20 years down the line we're still here' — Taking Back Sunday's drummer on the band's longevity Mark mentions in here possibly going into the studio in January to start the next album.
Did you get Louder Now or WYWTB? Depending on which one you got, were there any particular highlights from that album?
WYWTB. I thought it all sounded great, 180 was a highlight as usual. I Am Fred Astaire had a better crowd response than I was expecting. John did some cool ambient guitar stuff during New American Classic. Little Devotional also sounded incredible. They also played All Ready To Go after the albums and it was killer live.
They don't do the whole leave and come back thing. Once WYWTB was finished they just went straight into playing Tidal Wave. They only had time for extra songs. TW, Ghost, All Ready To Go, and MakeDamnSure. I imagine they could fit at least one more in if Adam cut but on the rants a little. Guess I'll find out tonight.
I mean, playing 2 songs from an album they play the night before or will play the next day. Like, they have to realize most cities with two dates will have many repeat fans. Why burn 2 of the only 4 non full album songs from an album you will be playing or just played?
Ahh, yea I see what you're saying. I did think it was a little weird when they started playing Ghost. I guess it's cool if you couldn't make it to both shows, but most people I talked to yesterday were going to both. I was hoping for some HI or more TW songs though.
I am sure some people are only doing one. But I am sure many are doing both. So to get TAYF twice, and 2 songs from each other album twice? I mean I guess the fact that they are playing TAYF both nights shows they think people will choose a show. But it doesn’t make sense to me. Would love more HI and TW , as well.
I posted in here before the tour started that my bet would be they'd play songs from LN and WYWTB in their encore, which I agree, is kind of bizarre. They could easily finish with Better Homes and Gardens or EMG or Flicker, Fade and I think that'd get fine fan reactions. EDIT: I mean, they could close with one of those three songs, while filling up their 4 song encore with post LN songs as well.
ehhhh. don't like that song. Hoping whatever comes after is better. Feels real choppy from a melodic and lyrical standpoint.
No lol. I thought I should reword it when posting and then I thought “nah they’ll know” Guess I was wrong
I did too. That'd be nuts, but they had 3 guitarist for a long time so I'd be down. Song rocks though. That lead guitar does some pretty cool things.
The Color Fred. They have an album from 2007(?) called Bend To Break that was really damn good but it’s been inactive for over ten years...until now
Seems like all the ex members are friends lol. Eddie seems tight with Fazzi and Fred. Rubano and Fred look like they’re on good terms too. Interesting
My guess is John and Shaun are cool with Fred too considering Straylight Run took The Color Fred out on tour.
Night two was also great. Louder Now translates so well live. @ncarrab I'll Let You Live was a highlight for me. All in all, the last two nights have combined to be one of my favorite concert experiences ever. Also, I wish they always closed with Decade instead of MakeDamnSure. I love both songs, but Decade is just a better closer, hands down.
The confetti shower during Decade was absolutely a perfect way to finish the night. Adam does tend to ramble here and there, but I was okay with how it all worked out to have the show end where it did, since I thought they’d have another song or two in the encore.
Is that....kind of about TBS?? Some of the lyrics seem like it....and the way he sings "let you down" reminds me of the same melody Adam sings it in Capital M-E
