lol oops. I dont follow TBS. Just saw it pop up. Guess you could say I was trying to make the news....new again.
It’s time for them to drop a new album. I think their tidal wave tour sold pretty well. Did they ever follow up on why the Jamaica thing got cancelled? I’d assume bc it wasn’t selling.
I feel like their shows always sell out a day or two before the show. Has that been the case for any of the dates so far?
I know the first day of the San Diego shows is sold out. Not sure about the next day. It’s been sold out for awhile now.
I go to that festival pretty much all 11 nights every year and this year I'm particularly excited by the lineup. All of that for 100C$ is pretty much a deal. (btw there are multiple venues so no, A Day to Remember is not playing between Lil Pump and Logic). Offspring and Blink back to back for closing night is particularly awesome.
I think a new album is pretty far away to be honest. They're doing the Twenty tour for the rest of this year...I'd say Spring 2020 is the earliest we'd get a new album and it's hard to imagine they'd go on another huge tour next year after touring all of 2019 pretty much nonstop. The Tidal Wave tour may have sold well, but I know they played in much smaller venues than normal. For instance in Cleveland, they played a ballroom - and even that didn't sell out until like THE night of the show. As far as the Jamaica thing, I'm certain it was cancelled because it wasn't selling, but they came out and said they had to cancel it because they were announcing something else instead (or something like that) but never really did.
I know they have a month between their 1st Leg of shows in America and their shows in Europe, so they’re probably spend that time writing and demoing new songs. After that, they have a break between mid-July and mid-September to finish writing/demoing the new album and maybe start pre-production, so I think we’ll get a new album in Summer 2020 If I end up being right about that, that would make it their longest gap between albums at almost 4 years.
They didn’t sell out Agora Ballroom I think because it was $45 before fees. They sold out HOB next time though
Cool show last night. WYWTB in full was pretty special, even though John is no Fred live and Adam didnt even attempt to hit the high part in the end of 180 By Summer. Instead, he sang something completely different lol. Little Devotional live was amazing. They should keep that in the regular set. Adam seemed to be having a blast playing WYWTB songs though. He also rambled a lot between songs, which I’ve never seen him do before. Like rambled for minutes haha. When they play their newer stuff live it’s like seeing a totally different band bc they kill it. We only got You Can’t Look Back and All Ready To Go, but it was just two natural performances from them where everyone was locked in. I think All Ready To Go was my favorite part of last night. Oh, they also said they wanted to take a break from the whole write, release album, and tour cycle to celebrate 20 years. So who knows when we’ll get a new album.
I’d say they all had an equal amount put into the writing process. Marks even written some popular songs. I do remember Eddie getting made fun in some “making of” videos because he couldn’t remember how he wrote certain guitar parts.
