I wonder what songs they will play from TW on any future tours? The one they've done since releasing is playing it in full, I'm curious to see which tracks become staples. I'd be happy if they at least kept the first 3 tracks in their sets.
i'm thinking tidal wave, you can't look back, call come running, death wolf, holy water, fences, and all excess will be rotated around. i'd imagine the first three will become staples
I'm so damn excited they're doing these repressings. Louder Now is one of the records I've wanted on vinyl for as long as I've been collecting. Definitely going to pick up that along with New Again.
cannot wait to own louder now will probably buy the other two just to have complete discog. but am not excited about them
Saw them in Munich this thuraday. Tremendous setlist and performance. It's so crazy, i have seen this band four times, I think I was 17 or 18 at my first tbs show. Now, almost 10 years later I am still seeing them with the same friends from back then. However, I wonder why Eddie wasn't there. Sometimes I wonder what Adam Lazzara would be doing if he would never held a mic..
eddie sat out some shows on the last tour too. i think it had something to do with his daughter but i can't recall it exactly. hope all is well with him and his family
I was at that show aswell. I agree that the show was really good but I was a bit disappointed they only played one song from WYWTB and New Again, which are my two favorite tbs albums.
Threw on my TAYF vinyl for the first time in a while and was pleasantly surprised to hear Ballad of Sal at the end. Also I thought last time I listened to it that it sounded bad and blamed the pressing, but it sounded fine this time. Maybe because I have a better record player now
Which NA song did they play? Seems like I forgot. Oh well, I was perfectly happy with the setlist. Phasers would have been fun though. They played no song from self titled, right? The Tidal Wave songs were really good live!
What's the overall verdict on Tidal Wave? I thought it seemed like they were really trying to be a jean-jacket punk band but it wasn't terrible.
To me, it's just hearing a band I loved jumping into left field and I don't like it. There's obviously way worse, but I just simply don't think anyone in the band is performing as well as they used to. Obviously having fun and trying out new things, which I support the idea of. It's just not my schtick.
I love it and think it's one of their best. Yeah it's different but in a way that makes sense and I love that they're still able to try new things and aren't stuck in a "let's just make TAYF 10 times" even if that's what some fans would probably want from them. They've done a great job I think of growing with their fans instead of staying stagnant.
Out of all the bands I've listened to since 2002, they've grown the most consistently, if that makes sense? Most music I bought new albums of in 02, I've bought one or none of theirs since due to them breaking up or not great. On contrast I've bought every tbs since then and enjoyed them a decent amount. I can't call them my favorite band and yet they gotta be up there.
i'm listening to Louder Now right now for probably the first time in 10 years or so! there's a few songs that i don't remember AT ALL, but a couple of my favorite TBS songs are on here. i usually just make TBS mixes/playlists rather than listening to full albums of theirs. this album rules though, for sure.
