But that means having to get through the beginning and middle! From those first few notes on I just can’t sit through any part of that song haha
Every time I listen to s/t I can acknowledge it’s not as bad my gut-reaction thoughts, there’s definitely some catchy stuff on there, but I still think only Best Places and IDFATLF make it to a Best of TBS playlist.
I really like Since You’re Gone, the bridge is a little wonky in context, but on its own it’s fine. If it weren’t for that it’d probably be my favorite on that record. I feel like that record is littered with things like that, good songs that have parts that don’t work or great parts in songs that don’t work.
Did you all know Eddie's band, Fate's Got A Driver, released their EP?! I didnt! Apple Music: Fate's Got a Driver - EP by Fate's Got a Driver
So I decided on a whim today to to revisit the first The Color Fred album and the first Terrible Things album, and goddamn I forgot how good they were. To be fair, I didn’t give The Color Fred album a fair chances because I thought that was a stupid name and I found myself in the Fred sucks camp because of how messy his split with the band ended up being. The Terrible Things album though, especially “Lullaby”...absolutely incredible. Both albums made me wanna pick my guitar up more often and just practice endlessly in the hopes of becoming as good as Fred haha
S/T isn't that bad. I remember just liking it so much when it came out because I couldn't believe the original lineup was back together and actually releasing another album. Best Places to Be a Mom, This Is All Now, and Doesn't Feel a Thing Like Falling are my favorites. El Paso and Faith are pretty great listens too, and for some odd reason, I really dig Money even though I probably shouldn't. They took a huge step up with Happiness Is and Tidal Wave though, and those two are far superior.
top songs: one-eighty by summer you're so last summer makedamnsure cut me up jenny best places to be a mom better homes and gardens you can't look back
Fred has been very active lately on social media. Go and follow his The Color Fred page on Facebook and he's posting videos almost every day.
my sentiments exactly i enjoy the s/t a lot it's just very obvious it was overcooked in the studio. new again seems to have the opposite problem. love them both forever still
These guys need to announce the 2nd half of their US tour for Twenty so I can tell my best man whether or not to plan my bachelor party accordingly haha
