this thread is weirdly lit atm no idea what my bottom 5 for this band is, but I'm gonna rank em if it takes me all night long
I'd probably take out Who Are You Anyway? and Not Going Anywhere, but this is solid. El Paso followed by Mackey Sasser would be such a great one-two punch to open the record.
I do love Tidal Wave and Fences, so I won't fight that. Such a great album. No filler. Like that one Sum 41 album, even though that album def had filler on it.
I was fairly disappointed when first listening to NA, coming off the high of LN I had huge expectations to say the least. Carpathia was a great single to start the album cycle off with but Sink Into Me felt a bit off to me. I still don't really mind it but its certainly one of the weaker track on the record. I'll admit I did write it off for a while but eventually it grew on me. I mean it came out when I was 15 so my taste has evolved significantly over the past 10 years. At this point I'd say the record is 7/11 good to great songs which is something I can't say about S/t or Tidal Wave. My ranking of their records is always changing but if I had to right now it would be: WYWTB>LN>TAYF>NA>HI>S/T>TW
The true bottom five: Cut Me Up Jenny Capital M-E Faith It Doesn't Feel A Thing Like Falling The entire TAYF10 Acoustic live album (it's bad)
You know what, you're right. Idk what I was thinking. S/t is their worst haha. I still don't think TW is great but its definitely more conistent.
I think I've only listened to it once or twice, but I just remember the mix being awful and Adam being at his worst vocally. John doesn't sound that good on it either. I just played the song in question. The female vocalist is Michelle Nolan, right? She's good, but it is overpowered by how terrible Adam and John sound.
Maybe I wouldn't hate the TAYF10 live album if they hadn't realized Orensanz a few years earlier. That is one of my favorite live albums of all time.
Interesting choice putting “morning sickness” before “You Got Me” considering the line “It’s my body, boy, Not your body” is in both. I also think “...Falling” still deserves a spot on that track list. I’m gonna try this playlist out.
Yeah I purposely did that. I don't know if it works since they're pretty different songs but I love both of them haha. Interested on your input on how the playlist works for you and if you'd move something. Also I'll re-listen to Falling and reconsider maybe
So far I’m digging @slimfenix182 ’s S/T’s playlist, but that keyboard melody along with the drums and bass in the verse of “Not Going Anywhere” reminds me of 007 Goldeneye from Nintendo 64. “You Were Right” also reminds me of Dire-Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 as well.
So i just finished listening through it. Took me a while because of work interruptions, but I thought it was great. I think I’d take “Morning Sickness” out and put “You Were Right” in it’s place, and put “...Falling” after “This Is All Now.” Either way though, if the band had gone with one of those tracklistings, S/T would probably be considered the heaviest album they’re put out.
Nice, I didn't think the existing order needed to be messed with aside from just replacing the weaker songs, and obviously the closer didn't need changing. I'll try out your suggestions soon too thanks
