I agree even though my favorites are different tracks. Lonely, Swing, Summer Man. EMG is so incredible still, the Live from Orensanz version takes it for me though. So good with that string opening.
Man, I know I listened to them all when you did the bracket but forgot which where which and have never gone back to them. I remember liking them all though.
Now I'm in a youtube hole listening to Taking Back Sunday B sides. Not the worst way to spend some time.
This is my exact feeling, I also got into them way later and I listen to tidal wave the most of all the records probably. WYWTB is my fave of those first three tho I do find tayf pretty fun live when I got the opportunity to here is at the holiday shows/Irving plaza
WYWTB is the only album that gives me nostalgia from these dudes. Thats mainly why it is my favorite TBS album. I can't listen to TAYF anymore because the production and vocals are so out of tune that I. Can't. Even. The energy of that album is what caught my attention back in the day though. Then WYWTB came out and blew my damn mind. Honestly wish they'd re-record TAYF.
I remember hearing Matt Rubano talk about the making of WYWTB and saying how Adam, Eddie and Mark were open to trying anything and everything. WYWTB is a superior album on all fronts because of that and the fact that Fred and Matt are as good as they are. That being said, I love Happiness Is and Tidal Wave just as much as WYWTB because they really grew and matured so much with them. With those two albums, you feel like they’re self-assured and confident again in their individual and collective abilities.
yup. don't forget "Long Time Comin". that tune is the best song from the New Again era. edit: JK JK JK Everything Must Go is.
Sleep and Brooklyn are sooooo gooooooooood. I always end up liking Louder Now more than I remember when I re-visit it. Also, I’m still firmly a Miami stan, idc what anyone says.
I keep checking every day for that new song but no luck yet. Really enjoy All Ready to Go, so I can't wait for Song for Dan as well
at this point i would assume it's not going to come out until the compilation is released on the 11th, unless it's been said otherwise and i missed it?
Yeah, that's a fair assumption. I'm also pretty interested in hearing how different their old tracks will sound. They're supposed to be remastered aren't they?
I don't expect much of a difference, some of the TAYF/WYWTB songs may sound a little cleaner/clearer but, i don't really anticipate anything to stand out as different.
Do we know who recorded/mixed the new songs? My friend's cousin was the lead engineer for TW, and i didn't see him post anything about working with them on newer stuff, so I was curious who they worked with, and if it might be a sign towards who will work on their next album.
I wonder where they're at with a new album because back in July Adam and John talked about being in the studio writing new songs for their 8th album. They even went as far as saying 'it's a little past the demo stage' Taking Back Sunday On New Album Plans: “It’s Better Than Ever” - News - Rock Sound Magazine EDIT: I also think this was before Eddie was officially announced as out. I'm wondering if that threw a wrench into writing/recording new album (or if they were already doing it without him at that point).
