I absolutely hate songs with that drum beat in the first verse. The rest of the song is cool though.

 

I like this quite a bit, doesn’t sound too TW-ripped to me, and if so more the punkish side than the Americana side. That said I’m hoping for more of a style change.

I just can’t into these guys anymore.

 

I used to feel like that about all their records post New Again and now I definitely dig some of their stuff. It took some years to grow on me.

Now will I ever be as stoked on this band as I was back in the day? No way. It’s just not possible.. and once I accepted that- some of their new material clicked with me.

idk i dont want to be extreme but after 2 listens there is nothing good i can find about this song lol you can barely hear what he's singing/mumbling, all the vocals are buried and muddy, production is demo at best, woof. hoping for better for future releases.

 

i also think it's a bad look to promote your "greatest hits" with a new song at this quality, if it is a demo, why not put a little more effort into polishing it up? if it's not a demo....double yikes.

Haha. I think it's too jaunty for my sad, sad heart. Doesn't get me as mad as songs with a "disco" style beat but it's up there!

 

The demo comments are quite overblown i.m.o.

 

Also I feel like a hundred times in TBS threads I've seen people complain that they should have used the demo versions they made over a studio version that they eventually recorded lol

I don't mind a rawer recording and vocals sound fine on Spotify for me too
