Yeah I mean, I don't mind personal question in an interview, I would have loved to hear John discuss what it feels like (to be a ghost) to play some of these older songs that he wasn't a part of writing, that also may be and part of them are directly about him, and how he has reconciled with that. But this just went in a completely unnecessary direction.
idk i can think of a bunch of things i'd want to ask John that have nothing to do (or almost nothing to do) with TBS in general. he's such an interesting and talented guy and it seems like an insult to just treat him like a side man. For christ sake the podcast is called lead singer syndrome and the whole time he's talking about a band he wasnt part of for nearly 10 year while he WAS the lead singer of another band and had his own solo project.
Somewhat unrelated, but while I generally love the podcast Shane’s never been a particularly good interviewer. Not surprised at all that this one got weird.
I've only listened to a handful of Shane's podcasts (This one, Anthony Raneri and Adam) and while he seems like he's coming from a good, genuine place - he just comes off weird or just out of tune to me. Like, always is turning things around to discuss himself. I remember the Anthony one was really bizarre because Anthony was really opening up about divorce and parental custody and living in Nashville alone and Shane kept like, trying to one-up him and make it about himself.
I really liked the Dan from Story of the Year and Jon Davis from KoRn ep. He has some gems. I'll still listen to this one sometime this week.
the Eddie part is interesting because a lot of Eddie's social media posts would lead me to believe they aren't all that friendly anymore.
This is surprising and disappointing to hear. The few episodes I've listened to were great and informative, so it's weird that he chose a different approach for this one.
Looks like we'll have a new song this Monday from the "20" album: "All Ready To Go" Track Download (Available 11/19) ... 20. All Ready To Go* 21. A Song For Dan*
The Twenty compilation doesn't include Great Romances. Let's start a riot. Also, I really wish that raglan shirt wasn't exclusive to those album bundles....hopefully they're sold at the shows.
Just premiered a new song on the Daniel p. Carter show. Only caught like 20 seconds of it. Hopefully it's up somewhere soon
New song is just alright to me. Was expecting something a little different since Adam said the new tracks are an indicator of the next record. Not bad though.
yea, not a bad thing just hope they explore some new sounds on the next album. I guess this Americana sort of rock style is where they are going to be landing as a band moving forward.
