I don't get the feeling at all they'll hang it up soon. Adam has even said as much in interviews throughout this album cycle. Talking about the band making additional records and playing into their 40s.
I can't see them hanging it up soon, at all (I hope). I know I'm in the minority but I think this band has gotten better with each album, with the exception of Self Titled (That was the band finding their feet with this line up again mind). I listen to Tidal Wave & Happiness Is far more than TAYF or WYWTB these days.
From a logical perspective, I tell myself that since they have reunited they have seemed so much closer and seem to be making exactly the records the want to make. But some weird feeling in my gut says they will quit. Idk I really hope they don't and there isn't any evidence to think they will. Side note: Self-Titled is freaking awesome.
Idk. It looked like it wasn't too hard on them this last time. They recorded at a place right by where Adam and John live. I think of anything, they're finding ways to keep doing this their whole lives. That said, I'd love another solo record from John. And a record from Adam would be great.
I'd love them to put out TBS records for the rest of their lives. This kind of american rock n' roll vibe they've got now would really compliment them as they grow older I think.
I've been wondering what he's been up to. I know after Terrible Things he was the touring guitarist for Say Anything for a bit, but that was a couple years ago now.
It's a shame, because the last EP he did with Terrible Things was really good. I seem to remember him saying around that time that they were going to become more active, but then nothing ever happened.
I remember Terrible Things played at a suburban bowling alley in my hometown in like, 2012 or 2013 and I felt so bad for the guy. Terrible Things was a great album, as was about half of The Color Fred album. Didn't either he or Adam tweet out a photo of the two of them together a few years ago? I swear I saw that.
How so? I mean, I know he did once Fred left and on New Again, and maybe even a little in the AP article of Oral History of TBS, but I thought the photo was long after all that.
Ah, I thought the photo was before the AP article. Honestly I haven't heard anything about how well they get on since 2011, so idk how they are now.
He did speak of Fred's departure in an AP interview for 10 year anniversary of Louder Now saying he was disappointed in direction Fred went with for his solo album but I don't think he was really taking a dig at him because it's 100% true. The Color Fred sounded like TBS b-sides or at least songs written for TBS. Taking Back Sunday singer Adam Lazzara reflects back on 10 years of ‘Louder Now’ - Features - Alternative Press
Apparently Louder Now is getting a repress. Also, Taking Back Sunday is finally getting a vinyl pressing. ‘Louder Now,’ ST from Taking Back Sunday up for pre-order
They tweeted earlier this year the Louder Now, New Again and ST we're going to get repressed this year.
Big Fred fan here. Reason why wywtb grabbed me when it grabbed me. I can see why Adam said it, but I can see why some people didn't latch onto terrible things (((though that "were doing terrible things " stays in my head)))
The last two albums haven't done much for me. I liked a few songs from Happiness Is and that's it unfortunately.
