His name is Nathan Post (I think on stage Adam has called him “Nathan Cogan”). He has an alt country Pop project called fox harbor, but he’s toured with TBS consistently since John and Shaun rejoined the lineup.
Nathan’s a nice dude, i met him a couple years ago. And yeah I think he does a great job, but when he’s playing keys, and john’s playing a lead part, it’s nice to have that extra “ooomph” of having a 3rd guitar there. I’ve never seen them without Eddie though I dunno if that’s the case and maybe theres no change in sound
Definitely a bummer. Eddie wasn’t there the last several times I’ve seen them, except for one show in the middle. Wish him well!
Damn that's awful, I wonder what the future of the band looks like, isn't he the primary song writer?
Is he really? I figured Tidal Wave was pretty Adam/John heavy. I assume without Eddie they’ll track more into the Tom Petty and rock-n-roll territory.
Really sad, eddie is awesome. Most amicable split i think is when adtrs first guitarist left, but still was involved in writing and recording etc, so in a way still part of the band. Would be cool with eddie and tbs too.
what a gut wrenching post to wake up to :( This band means so much to me man i hope everything turns out okay for him. I don't think they will replace him out of respect. He is the OG tbs member
I don’t think Eddie was the primary songwriter. I know that the drummer (blanking on his name right now for some reason) writes a good chunk of TBS songs, if I remember right.
Also I’m real sad Eddie is gone. He’s been a presence in this band since the beginning and it’s weird that he’s gone. I hope everything is alright with him and things are good for his family. I doubt they replace him, but I like Nathan and if they make him a full time member that would be cool
Surprised this hasn't been posted on the site yet. Eddie was a staple/historic figure in the scene you'd think it would get some recognition
I think he and Mark primarily wrote the music for TAYF, and Eddie wrote a lot of their bridges/outros. The riff in “It Doesn’t Feel a Thing Like Falling” is all Eddie
Eddie wrote the riff to 180 as well. I believe up to S/T Mark wrote a lot, not sure how the writing process is these days but I’d venture to say it’s probably pretty collaborative. I met Fazzi one time at a AGBPOL show and he mentioned Mark writing a lot on New Again, including the riff to Swing
Took a walk around my neighborhood today, and listened to all of Tidal Wave for the whole walk. Still slays. I hope these guys can keep the momentum going after that record.
