"Since You're Gone" has the potential to be a great song, but the chorus is pretty lame IMO and the way Adam sings "I'M SAHHHHRRRRAAAYYYY! I'M SAHHHHRAAAYYY!" always bothered me for some reason.
I think you're right. According to Wikipedia, production was mainly credited toward Stephen Jenkins and Arion Salazar (the bassist).
I like Self Titled more than all of the albums preceding it by a little bit. Obviously there are higher highs before, TBS played a pretty mean singles game through New Again. Happiness Is and Tidal Wave are my two favorite by a longshot though.
All this talk about s/t not being terrible is weirding me out. Only songs worth returning to are falling and best places. Some of the others are fine but there are 60 better TBS songs lol
Probably an unpopular opinion, but here it goes. Best Places To Be A Mom is the most overrated song in their catalog. It's another example of how the original version (the live debut) was probably much better than the more watered down final version.
20 20 is most overrated since I think it gets a decent amount of love but totally blows imo. Tayf is also a little overrated as a whole because it's got some seriously weak parts
Blue Channel used to be my least favorite in TAYF, but I finally listened to the lyrics one day and it really did capture that broken angry teenager feeling when a significant other cheats on you...as juvinile as it is, I love the bridge/outro. Full dslcosure, I had an ex that cheated on me and had pictures of me on her bedroom mirror, so the lyrics do really touch a part of my past haha
Twenty Twenty is only made worse by its johnny cash folsom prison recreation music video. It’s an otherwise mediocre song.
