Like You Do is my only skip on HI. Can't really stand that song. Skip nothing on Tidal Wave though. Best TBS record front to back.
Yeah, Like You Do is pretty much the only song I ALWAYS skip on Happiness Is. Everything else is great.
Not sure if I agree about Happiness Is (although I enjoy a few songs on it) but New Again and WYWTB are top tier. I remember everyone on this site hating on New Again and wishing for the old line up back... Well be careful what you wish for y’all
With the last three records- I have enjoyed a few songs here and there but nothing makes me feel anything like the three that came before it.
They don't have any friends... I like it. I think of those people that always say "I hate the new tbs!! I liked tayf the rest suck!" When I hear this song and it makes me laugh.
TAYF is a great nostalgic record but it’s not a great record. WYWTB, Louder Now, and New Again are great records. The rest, in my opinion, range from alright to meh for me.
Tidal Wave and Happiness Is has a few great tracks on both records but as a whole? I would rate that as just pretty good.
I love pretty much every song on both albums. Self titled and New Again have a handful of gems and the rest are ok
I love 3 songs on New Again. Some are ok. Then I straight up despise songs like Cut Me Up Jenny and Sink Into Me. I just find the chorus of Sink so jarring and I hate the way he sings it lol. New Again has my least favorite verses in any TBS song which sucks cause musically the song is good.
New Again: New Again Catholic Knees Lonely Lonely Swing Everything Must Go Didn’t See That Coming(technically not on album) Self titled: Best Places To Be A Mom Sad Savior El Paso This Is All Now Doesn’t Feel A Thing Like Falling Call Me In The Morning The rest of the tracks on those albums are still good but relatively weaker
I don’t think Louder Now is a great record but otherwise I mostly agree with you. I liked HI a lot when it came out but haven’t really been compelled to return to it much. TW came out at a weird time for me and I only gave it a full listen once but I liked some of it, I have tried to return to it since but it never seems to hold my attention.
I'd like to see our roles reversed, to watch you hang on every word. I'd like to see you have your waaaayyyyyy.
New Again and Self-Titled are easily the band's two weakest releases, imo. I love pretty much everything on their first 3 releases and last two releases (sans Up Against, Like You Do, Holy Water) The only songs I go back to on New Again are: Swing, Summer, Man, Carpathia, Cut Me Up Jenny & Where My Mouth Is The only songs I go back to on S/T are Best Places, This is All Now & Call me in the Morning
At least we all agree no matter how you feel about the S/T, Best Places and Call Me in the Morning are fantastic songs.
Just put on New Again because of this thread and DAMN it’s so good. The bass lines courtesy of Rubano are lovely. My only issue is the stupid producer who insisted on keeping Fazzi’s vocals out aside from some backing. Dude has an amazing voice and would have made the record even better.
Correct and super correct! When I watched their live acoustic dvd for the first time where Fazzi cuts loose, I was super impressed!
I will say I do love Fazzis vocals on the live from bamboozle album, him being on NA More could have helped
